I have a 4gb flash drive and my space seems to be disappearing. I put some stuff on it and later removed everything and should have 4gb space, but only have 3.72gb. I did google this first and got something about fat space whatever that is. what is happening and how do I fix it?
Does it say you have 3.72GB of free space, or total space?
It's not going to be exactly 4GB when formatted. Or was it 4GB before you put the stuff on and took it off.
It's not going to be exactly 4GB when formatted.
Actually, what he said. I haven't bothered to calculate the amount of space the filesystem will use. Since 7% of space is always unavailable after formatting, 4GB-(4GB*0.07)=3.72GB Everything's correct here.
Does it say you have 3.72GB of free space, or total space?
both, I deleted everything from it and only have 3.72 when I should have 4. when I first used it I had the full 4gb space.

Have you connected it to a Mac recently? It could be bloody .trashes. Check for hidden folders.
Have you connected it to a Mac recently? It could be bloody .trashes. Check for hidden folders.
.trashes... RAGE! Why would there be a separate trash file for portable devices? Shouldn't it go in your own trash? Come on, Apple, you can do better than that :colbert:
