Looks like nVidia is going.
Bye-bye, nVidia :frown:

Really? Jesus christ. Seems like ATi really managed to get ahead, I hope this is just a setback.
What THE MOTHERFUCKING FUCk
Well that lasted real long.
Holy shit.
I have an 8800GT and it's the best card I've ever had for the price.
...
Needs better source
If this is true, though, ATI would monopolize the market.
wait if ati becomes the only graphics card company, wont that mean they can drive their prices up as they are the only choice?

Yep
:ohdear:
This is awful, the competition was what kept the market going. If Nvidia goes, ATI can do what they like.
Huh, am I missing something, I thought the gtx 200 series was already released.

I really, really hope that was a joke.
That whole site seems to be filled with anti-Nvidia articles. Let's wait for a better source, shall we?
haha that page is utter bs, don't believe everything you read
wait if ati becomes the only graphics card company, wont that mean they can drive their prices up as they are the only choice?
it's likely

Hopefully not, but it would remove the competition which drove prices so low.
But ATI lets you know that it's working by having a loud fan.
Wait what?!
Did some digging, this site is run by Charlie Demerjian, a former editor of The Inquirer.
We can leave now.
You guys shouldn't trust that site.
Nooo :frown: I love my PhysX, CUDA and driver extras
(Yes I know I can have PhysX with an extra card and that CUDA has an ATi equivalent, but the latter is much less popular and the former costs way too much)
(In case this is real, that is)
god damn it ATi are going to skyrocket the prices on gfx cards....

That.
Also if Nvidia was to do something like that, it probably would be because Fermi (AKA the 300-series) are going to replace the 200-series (which would mean that the new 300-series would have a price similar to the current 200-series).
-snip-
What wait?
Those little kids are so naive it's just so funny (kids = most of FP users)
wait if ati becomes the only graphics card company, wont that mean they can drive their prices up as they are the only choice?
Yes, AND stop actually developing anything new.
But this is actually pile of bullshit. Maybe Nvidia doesn't have lead at actual card model, but has bigger and more stable base as company.
This guys is probably just a giant troll
Waiting on a better source, but still.
The 5xxx series is better than anything Nvidia would have made. And even if they brought out a new card, It'd probably be twice the price.
It's a shame to see them pull out, as I've always had Nvidia cards. Maybe they really do think they've been beaten.
this is great i've always wanted to pay out of the ass for graphics cards now my dream can come true.
