And im getting really sick of android 2.2 not supporting my apps, and not really being a smooth user experience.
Usually for well known phones there is a nice an easy custom ROM, with guides to install it. Thats kinda hard to find for this thing though.
So my question to you is, how would I go about upgrading this tab to a higher version of android or custom ROM?
Is this #holo enough?
Been using my Nexus 4 for almost a month now, but only a week with mobile data, and the battery is just abysmal in my opinion.
I barely make a day, even when I'm not using the phone. Any ideas to improve battery life?

Have you turned GPS and location history off?
I'm very happy with my Nexus 4's battery. If I take it off charge at 100% at 7am, I can get through a day till 1-2am usually. I web browse, always have steam mobile signed in, always have data or wifi on.
Backlight is a big killer, I always have mine on auto.

If you're willing to, flash the franco.Kernel for Nexus 4. I've done that (as well as mblunk) and it improves the battery performance by a huge amount. Also, like rhx said, turn off unwanted services as you go. Ex: if you're going to be in class for an hour, you might as well have wifi, data, and/or gps off (unless you use it in class.) DS Battery Saver Pro might be a better option for you if you don't like doing it manually and you only want it off while the screen is locked/you're not using your device.

Auto on phones is so broken. It measures the brightness of your face rather than the surrounding ambient light because the sensor faces right at you. It's functionally useless. You'll never get a brightness setting that is actually appropriate for the lighting conditions you are in.
My thread was awfully short :(
I just bought Pocket Casts. Good god that is one awesome app.

It seems to work for me alright, I mean sometimes it can be slightly on the dark side in bright light, but it's not eye-straining or anything. Which is I guess the perfect balance but hey.

They must of put the post limit down, a lot of threads closed today.
or someone just went nuts
Spring cleaning is my guess.
Pocket Casts does some weird things in the action bar that I don't like.
Things like the weird up arrow and the fact that they have an overflow button on devices with menu buttons.

What is #HOLO? In other news, I just traded my HTC One XL for a LG Optimus G.
I gave up JB for ICS but I love the phone alot.
#HOLO is a joke around Android's UI called Holo, and people who take it way too far.
To buy Xperia Tablet Z, or not to buy Zperia Tablet Z, that is the question.
Lovely design of the first post! Ich liebe.
Edit: I just pretend to know Deutsch - it's like my version of those who speak french for impressing people.

I have a ridiculously long password for FP, I really don't want to have to type that a lot [/quote]
The way I understand the FP API is once you enter the username and password into the login command, it gives you a session ID which you can use for pretty much everything else.
Is there such thing as an android powder game type thing that uses the position sensing to shift the gravity? because that would kick ass. Also more motion sensing games in general.
Yes! I'll be able to pick up my new phone and free headphones tomorrow.
Hello folks! I'm looking for a phone of decent quality to replace my Blackberry Bold (good phone, just, the headphone port is on the side of the phone, which is damned annoying). I was looking around on Amazon.ca and Amazon.com, and noticed that amazon.com prices are MUUUUUCH cheaper. As a Canadian living close to the border, there's no problem with me heading across the border to pick up a phone and come back. I was looking at prices and reviews, and the Sony Xperia LT26 looks like a really good phone.

I assume it comes with all the "essentials" (herp) like wifi, accelerometer, gps chip, etc.
Considering the massive markdown on it, I'm considering purchasing it. Is there any problems I could run into purchasing it? Is it easily moddable (if I so feel like modding it, like, a new OS or something)?
If there's a better alternative for a price close to the marked down price, let me know!
Thanks :)
You would be better off choosing the Nexus 4 if you can get it off the Play Store. You're getting pure google experience, so no added skins or bloatware. It has great specs and has a big modding community and will receive updates as quick as Google release them as well being supported longer. For your price range you really can't get anything better.
Just installed Cyanogenmod on my S3 after being lazy for ages, forgot how nice it is having a near stock setup. Hopefully it adds battery life to the phone like it did my old ZTE blade.
