• Help switching graphic cards - Clumsy shit

So a friend of mine bought a new graphic card and he's trying to switch it. Problem is that when he did, he turned on the pc and no pic came up and there was a strange noise going. Now he's trying to install the old one, but when he gets to the desktop, the system reboots automatically So what should he do?
Tried safe mode? I would go to safe mode and uninstall drivers, install new ones and hope it works.
Was the noise kinda like a whine? I've had this happen to me when I installed an old card, while being pretty tired. Forgot to connect the 4-pin molex, and all I got was a high pitched, loud whine for the PSU. PSU later blew up, but that's a different part of the story. Really, just make sure all connectors are connected as they should. Why the system reboots, I can really tell.
he says it's was just 2 beeps and then the system starting, which was a bit different than usual Well i think it would be better to solve the problems with the new card than with the old one. So the old one is just 2 beeps, and system starting, then a black screen The old one, the one he's trying now: He tried safety mode, but the system is still rebooting by itself
2 beeps on startup is generally a RAM POST error....but if it was a POST error then the computer just wouldn't boot at all.
Doesn't GPU sometimes have POST codes themselves? Try checking whether it's from the GPU or the motherboard. Check up on the specific meaning of the two beeps for that motherboard, as well.
