its that except mines a 500 gb one. One users post was this
Pros: tons of space for the price, runs cooler than my other WD black drives
Cons: i have an issue with source games (counter-strike and tf2 in particular) running from this drive. i re-installed all my steam games from my older WD black drive to this one; i now have stuttering every 30 - 60 seconds or so. it only last for half a second, but it usually happens during a firefight - i end up dying because i just freeze. both games were working fine right before i switched the installations. the hd light shows activity right when this happens, so i'm sure it's the drives fault. i have defragged with o&o 10 and it still acts the same. i'm sure it has to do with the slower speed/power saving features.
hopefully i can find a workaround as the price was great.

So yes what you read in cons was.. that in every game no matter what i get stuttering except.. gta san andreas.. but i barley play it.. anyways its not source engine because it works well with anyone else.
Things i have done to test..
Reinstalled steam to My C drive instead of Z drive (Local Dicks)
Tried tf2 css gmod all came out same result. Except tf2 has the most stutters but that might be my internet sometimes since my internet only disconnects when i play tf2..
comp specs..
Amd Anthlon x2 Dual core around 7680? possibly (im using my brain to remember)
Ati radaeon HD 4800 uhh yes 512 mb
6 gb of ddr2 ram ( but only 3.2 is being read.. on windows xp ) (this is another problem too)
and my Hard drives C: 140 gb Z 500
my Mobo is some jetway crap but i assure you its not that :)
So i have been seriously having this problem since i put steam on my new hd
How do i know? isnt it weird how san andreas doesn't stutter at all ? but the rest of my games do?
Well thats because san andreas is on my C drive and the rest is on my Z drive.
so what should i do? Help??? i need to do something before i get stuck with a bad HD i have less then a week and a half left.. HELP me pleasse! should i send it back in? if i do? Help me get a better one that works and is compatibile or tell me a way to fix my problem.. thanks guys time for food please oh please help :( i have had enough problems with my mobo and just got those fixed i havent even gotten time to enjoy this computer yet because of these problems thanks
Check the transfer speeds of your HD. Might not be the HD.
Sorry for being such a newb at this techy shit but.. how do i do that?
anybody ? :(
Just so you know, you need a 64-bit os for windows to detect all of your ram.
And your CPU is probably bottlenecking your video card, in short you need a better cpu.
Yeah I have the same problem, only in 64-bit vista. I still have no clue how the hell to fix it. I believe I have a similar graphics card-- perhaps someone knows the solution, besides switching back to 32-bit XP (Which I did, and has been the only fix I've found so far).

try going back a few months' worth of drivers (9.10, 9.9, 9.8, 9.7) and see if any of those fix it
