• PCI-e x4 M.2 adapter and a Samsung 950 Pro?

Hey guys! Recently I wanted to purchase Samsung 950 Pro, and before doing so I checked my motherboard's specs page over and over again, but nothing was ringing any alarms, so I made the purchase. Then long story short the motherboard didn't recognize the SSD whatsoever, and I contacted MSI support. First thing I asked them if the board supports this SSD and it doesn't: the M.2 slot only supports SATA based SSDs. I've recently started an RMA process, which is on halt as long as I keep the product myself, and will expire anyway. I've been thinking and started wondering if I can use a PCI-E x4 to M2 adapter to get it working? I'm more or less paranoid I miss something again and this solution won't work either. My specs are: MSI B150 PC mate ( http://www.msi.com/product/motherboard/B150-PC-MATE.html ) Samsung 950 PRO 256 GB And the adapter I'm looking at right now: https://azerty.nl/8-5743-795022/delock-pci-express-card-1-x-.html It will mean a world to me if you guys can provide some light on my issue. Thanks in advance!
Im not sure if that SSD would fit in size in that adapter. Also i just checked my own motherboard specs and according to the specs it shoud work But the SSD is not in the list tho. Because yeah in product list it says "M.2 2280" [t]http://i.imgur.com/rDKcEuY.png[/t] Its a Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H if you were thinking about RMAing the MB and thinkn about getting this MB
I was wondering that too, and these days M.2 SSDs appear to have standard formfactors. The SSD itself has formfactor 2280 (which appears to have to do with the length), and the adapter supports formats 2280, 2260 and 2242 so I guess that would be a fit. As for doing an RMA, I was talking about the SSD itself, not the motherboard. Sorry if that caused confusion.
