• Music to listen to while reading

I've been reading a lot again recently and while sipping on tea and reading my Stephen Fry book it occured to me that I have something missing. So I'm looking for some simple, easy going music that won't interupt reading. Any ideas? (User was banned for this post ("There Is A Thread For This" - Perfumly))
It'll just screw up your reading in any way
Lounge music.
David Gilmour's solo album On An Island. Just do it.
It'll just screw up your reading in any way
I was thinking that but you never know...
Lounge music.
Anything in particular?
David Gilmour's solo album On An Island.
I'll give it a try and give my views on it later.
I cant do that, I have a hard time concentrating on reading books so it has to be silent.
Elevator music. Actually, has anyone got any good links for elevator music?

Levellers are pretty good.
I've been trying but mostly it just doesn't work for me, mixes the lyrics up with the thing I read. If it's classical or some jazz without song it works though.
Anything slow/smooth with no or little lyrics should be good for you.
FYI, On An Island (suggested by SolidSnake52) is really good. However classy piano style music would probably be more suited.
i find that listening to classical music helps me get through a book, so maybe some Mozart,Beethoven is what your looking for?

Alot of classical pieces actually have some really loud buildups that could get distracting.
Roysopp and Ulrich Schnauss.
Massive Attack, Meat Puppets.
If you have a record player find a copy of the Yellow Submarine soundtrack and just play the B side of it. Really nice music.
Sigur Rós works for me.
Find some instrumentals that you like. Maybe some ambient stuff. When I'm reading with music playing I just start Nine Inch Nails' Ghosts I-IV, that works for me.
I read while listening to death metal. Lots of death metal. Scar Symmetry, Instant Suppression, Fractal Gates, Hypnosis, Hypocrisy, God Dethroned, Dark Age, Burden of Grief, Beyond the Embrace, Armageddon, Zonaria, This Ending. I can't read to anything else; the lack of loud noise distracts me.
Okay, I do this a lot. I try and find music that's fairly dynamic yet is minimalist enough to keep me concentrated on the book (as long as the book is slightly engaging). Stars of the Lid Gas Leyland Kirby William Bainski [editline]07:16AM[/editline] Specifically Stars of the Lid and William Bainski's Disintegration Loops
If I do it MUST be music without vocals, otherwise I can't concentrate.
Sigur Rós works for me.
Exactly what I was thinking.
i always found The Smiths and Belle & Sebastian work well for me
Instrumental math rock
Zero 7.
Oh yeah, some instrumentals like Joe Satriani's works would be a good idea.
Cinematic Orchestra
