Hi guys, I'm very new to creating music and getting the right sounds in the right spots, so I would love help from you guys. So far this is what I have, again, I'm new to all of this, help is appreciated. Thanks guys.
The Start brings me back to my young days when I played my Nes. After that it breaks my heart but is still good.

How long have you been writing music? It's really nice considering you haven't been doing this for long. Good job! :buddy:

Comments as I listen. There isn't any connection between these chords. The volume seems to be fluttering. These sounds aren't making any sense. The drums feel extremely muffled, along with everything else. The lead is making everything confusing. The melody isn't sitting very well on top of these chords on the end. The drums came back in and I don't feel like they are support much. Very weak ending. My advice is to finish up this piece the best you can and then to move on having the goal of making a bunch of songs within the next month. A lot of people (including myself) suggest that quantity is far more important than quality when starting out. I could go into the details why if you wanted.
Why post music if you don't think it's good?
Why post music if you don't think it's good?
I keep trying to make something that sounds good to myself, but I just can't get anything. I came here to get some help and tips to improve what I already have, and thanks Pepin for the tips! I'll be sure to fix that up. So are you saying I should just make more songs instead of taking 6 hours on each one?
So are you saying I should just make more songs instead of taking 6 hours on each one?
I'm saying to not get stuck on perfecting your early work and to focus more on quantity. Once you start getting pretty comfortable with writing songs and being able to distinguish what sounds good and what doesn't, then that is the time where you should start focusing more on quality. Six hours isn't a bad amount of time to put into a song. I usually write my songs pretty fast and then take about a week perfecting them. A big issue with writing music is that you make something that at the time you think is amazing, and then you listen to it a few days later and your first order of business is to get rid of it because what you thought sounded so good really sounds terrible. This actually happens to me with entire songs, so I just stop working on them entirely. So what I am saying is that focusing on writing a lot of songs right now would be more beneficial than spending a lot of time on just one song.
