I bought 2 8800 gt 1gb of ram, and i have only needed to use 1 for all my games i play. I was wondering how much would the extra one i have sell for?
Not alot, noboby wants 8800 anymore.
Probably 40 bucks at most.

That's USD, I don't know where you live.
8800 gt with 512mb of ram are like 50-80$ on ebay.
just give it to a mate or something, no point going through all that hassel for a little money imo

Now i feel like my computer is crap now. I didnt know this video card sucked but i can max out GTA IV on it.
Nah, the 8800GT is still a fine card. Used, it'll probably fetch a good fifty.

Yeah it is fine but it isn´t anywhere near great.
It used to be one of the greatest back then now with all the new technology, it's just mainstream.
And why don't you just SLI it incase you want to play on more powerful games.

Already beat crysis duno if theres a beter graphics game out there.
Send it to me please. I'm on a GeForce6150.
Fallout 3? Modern Warfare 2? Crysis Warhead? Warhammer: Dawn of War II?
I will by it for ~30 depending if you want to ship it to AZ.
Set a price if you do want to sell online.
I still use my 8800GT and it works great. You could probably sell it to some sucker for $100.
Make sure you throw in a third party fan. If it's anything like my card, the thing boils over with stock cooling.
Im getting my complete new computer stuff in a day or two, 5850 :). But anyway, atm im using a GeForce 8600GS!! its so bad :) but it's usable. In my opinion actually you should keep the second one, bridge it and then you can play mw2 and stuff better.
Or, check if it has a return thing so you can get cash back from the shop?

GPUs are supposed to run hot.
Couple days ago i had to clean it out cus mine was at ~140 C, i know i put a post on technical support lol it was so hot :/
you could attempt to sell you whole PC on Ebay. Advertise the two 8800GT's and some sucker will purchase it for a pretty penny. Then, you can take the money you earned and buy yourself a whole new PC. People buying PCs on Ebay have no clue what their looking at so if you have a dual or quad-core CPU advertise the clock speed*#of cores and you can convince a great deal more people.
OP what res are you running at, SLi'd you could probably last another year or more maxing everything at 1680x1050 maybe even 1920x1080, just use the second 8800 to last longer before upgrading
hell at 1600x900 I almost max everything sensible (excluding crysis etc) with my 8800gt
Fallout 3? Modern Warfare 2? Crysis Warhead? Warhammer: Dawn of War II?
Itll run fine with the 8800GT.

I can max out MW2 with 1 card. When i use 2 cards my computer just gets super hot. I bought these 2 years ago so its been sitting around forever.

stick the second one in and you'll be fine for a good while
The 8800 is a decent card, but with the new generations coming the demand has lessened so you won't get a "good" price regardless of its performance.

Whats cool is just 1 card has lasted me this long, and still works.

what's cooler is you have a second which means you'll last even longer

I am aware, but the 8800 was notorious for overheating. The EVGA card that I had was even worse because the card's fan would never run at 100% without manually forcing it through software (RivaTuner). Left unattended my card would run well above the thermal specs for the GPU. These days, with a new Zalman fan, I usually get between 68-75 degrees celsius while playing games.
What I would do I buy a Zalman VF900 cooler and the heatsinks for the memory chips. I would recommend doing this if you're going to keep both cards for a year more. I have the Zalman cooler on my Evga 8800GT and the idle temp is 34-37C and load is about 48C max. The cards idle temp with the stock cooler is about the max I get with mine right now.

DON'T use signatures on this forum (-Jake). Just a little word of advice for a new '10er.
Anyway, I'd just SLI the two cards and save up for a while before upgrading. You have two perfectly decent cards there; you can still squeeze maybe another year out of it before upgrading. Save the money you would have spent on another card over that time and use it to build a top of the line PC with the new hardware of the future.
