he forgot that demon's souls is the best souls game of all time though.
theres like 3 games what the fuck is the point
theres like 3 games what the fuck is the point
They use these sorts of articles to sort of bait people into clicking on it. Pretty clever really.
PCGamer articles ranked from worst to best
a list of three games in an author's preferential order is now an article. thanks modern journalism
Honestly, having been startled by the linear progression (in terms of world and equipment) in DaS3 as early as my second playthrough when I attempted a faith/str hybrid build, I've started appreciating Dark Souls 2 a whole lot more. Especially from a PvP perspective. That's the stuff that kept me sticking with DaS1 for over 1000 hours, DaS2 for 650~ total and why I've only invested 250~ hours in DaS3 before getting bored. As far as replayability goes, I've certainly found Dark Souls 3 to have the least replayability due to lack of versatility in builds and gameplay depth. But on my first playthrough I did prefer the world and NPCs to that of Dark Souls 2.
Not only is this such a pointless list, it's almost pretty much common opinion. Most Souls fans I've talked to agree it's 1 > 3 > 2, with the only point of contention being the degree of which 1 is better than 3.
PCGamer articles ranked from worst to best
at least that article would be much more content-worthy I see this happening
theres like 3 games what the fuck is the point
They did this with Mass Effect too like wtf is it that hard to find a series with more games [editline]20th November 2016[/editline] I mean fuck's sake they could've opened it up to "the souls-like" games and included Bloodborne, Demon's Souls, and Lords of the Fallen (if they want to include a non-From trashy knockoff)
ign ranked the metal gear series before 5 came out, pcg should do like splinter cell or assassin's creed
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they made a list with even less games. "StarCraft games ranked from worst to best"
I don't like 1 as much as 3 because the last two thirds of DS1 is pretty shitty where as all of DS3 is roughly the same quality
At least they got Dark Souls 2 being the worst right
Not to even mention the fact that the article itself is garbage on a conceptual level, but their justification for dark souls 1's rough edges is frustratingly stupid and comprises their whole spiel on the first game. "In any game other than dark souls being buggy, full of exploits and extremely obtuse about basic game mechanics would be a bad thing but it's a beautiful amazing thing here because....uh....um....it's dark souls and it makes you feel accomplished..! God what a game!" Just because I feel inexplicably accomplished about being able to withstand sticking my cock in a blender doesn't mean it's suddenly a great activity. What an exasperatingly stupid waste of words. The money that went towards paying the person who wrote this could've fed a starving ethnic orphan a loaf of wonderbread and I hope that motherfucker goes to bed with this knowledge on a nightly basis.
