Premier Barry O'Farrell announced he will be resigning as the Premier of New South Wales in a press conference this morning. Yesterday at the Independent Commission Against Corruption, the Premier denied having received an expensive bottle of wine from Australian Water Holdings Executive Nick di Girolamo.
http://www.abc.net.au/local/stories/2014/04/16/3986657.htm In summary, O'Farrell was asked to attend an ICAC investigation over a different matter, and at the investigation he was asked whether or not he received gifts (in particular, a $3,000 bottle of wine) from an Executive of Australia Water Holdings. O'Farrell denied receiving any gifts, and so of course he did not declare any gifts, yet evidenced has surfaced against him including a thank you note to the Executive for the bottle of wine. So here we are, without a Premier for the time being.
Well shit, of all the scandals that NSW has been through this one actually has consequences.
Won't miss him for a second but as far as things go a bottle of wine seems pretty tame. Must have smashed it down pretty fast if he can't remember what happened to it. eh eh?
It's funny how quickly you can end a political career. Shame that he was decent enough to resign immediately, that's got to be worth something and a politician that has something of worth is more than most.

Was a shit situation for him though. Even if he was honest to ICAC yesterday, that would have meant he failed to declare a gift and he would have had to resign there and then. I may not be a supporter of the Liberal party, I've never given a primary vote to them, but O'Farrell was a good man and Abbott is very true in calling him honourable. Isn't he a teetotaler anyway?
Cya later faggot O'Farrell accusing the labor government about it's corruption. Funny how he resigned after they found the letter of thanks.
Channel ten is paying him out so much it's pretty hilarious tbh
Within 15minutes of the announcement, Wikipedia had changed.
Technically he hasn't resigned yet, it'll take him a week to formally resign
