Looks like the NSA is going to be put to good use on this. The entire internet is a good place to start for the culprit.

I wonder how the sensationalist media will handle furries if they will
Look, now there's two threads to shitpost in!
i could see why it'd be intentional
i could see why it'd be intentional
I could see why it could be completely justified in the mind of the perpetrator.
I could see why it could be completely justified in the mind of the perpetrator.
Are you for real
I could see why it could be completely justified in the mind of the perpetrator.
you have to give this dude props though, everybody who hates furries complains about them on the internet and insults them, but they never do anything about it. This guy took the next step and actually went out and did something about it. What did he do? Hurt them. (User was banned for this post ("Weirdo" - SteveUK))
Are you for real
What are jokes?
I could see why it could be completely justified in the mind of the perpetrator.
that sounds pretty guilty https://tips.fbi.gov/ All good Americans should do their part.
I could see why it could be completely justified in the mind of the perpetrator.
Obviously it was justified in the mind of the perpetrator. Otherwise he wouldn't have done it. What's the sense in even making this statement?
I could see why it could be completely justified in the mind of the perpetrator.
Talking shit about some people on the internet is one thing. Going out to intentionally harm them in real life is another.
Are you for real
He's not saying he agrees with whoever did the chemical attack's actions, he's just saying that someone's actions towards a group which are easily able to be perceived as hated by a lot of people (especially online, where it is hard to tell the difference between playful humor and outright hatred in many circumstances, even moreso with a group that is so easy to generalize and stereotype like furries) could be easily justified in the perp's mind if he/she performed the attack to be a 'hero' in the eyes of the community he/she is a part of that he/she perceives as hating furries, it's really easy for someone that is a part of an online community (where most of the negative stigma towards furries is) to get stuck in an echo chamber where a few vocal people seem like a much larger group, especially when there is nobody there to speak for the opposite side, and it is easy to be fooled to thinking you are in the majority or are right when you are stuck in that echo chamber. It's even worse in communities like facepunch and reddit where there are ratings that will give you a predisposition to interpret a post in a certain way without even trying to understand it in the way it's been written, you see that post with 20 disagree ratings and you will think the post is stupid, but if you take the time to read it in context it's easy to see what the poster actually meant with the post, where he was saying how it is easy to understand the individual's mindset and why he/she might want to do something like a chemical attack towards this particular group, as opposed to interpreting it as justifying the attack itself.
Really making the best of himself when he gets jailed for the rest of his life. and 19 people hospitalized because he/she thinks they are weird.
just so you know, I'm not advocating for the culling of people who like the furry fandom just because it is universally hated by people, I'm just commending this guy for following his feelings and actually doing something about his hate. Sure, it may have been stupid, but taking initiative is a good life lesson
Serious question. How would you catch someone doing this at a fur con? I'd think it would be pretty trivial to dodge surveillance. Just dress up in a secure location, show up, dump the stuff, leave, and undress in a secure location. Then again, this assumes that the person doing this wasn't stupid.
You know the Internet is evolving too fast for us to keep up and maintain something resembling civil sanity when you can no longer say "no furry con has ever been interrupted by a chemical attack". We need classes on how to properly handle the Internet and how to keep it from turning you stupid. Also, who gives a shit about Dashcon and their ballpit, now? That's tame compared to a 1am chlorine attack. :v:
Oh no. I hope you are being sarcastic.
He never once advocated the culling of the furries. [editline]7th December 2014[/editline] Clearly what we have here a misunderstanding.
He never once advocated the culling of the furries.
Thank you. I don't know why everyone is getting on my back
just so you know, I'm not advocating for the culling of people who like the furry fandom just because it is universally hated by people, I'm just commending this guy for following his feelings and actually doing something about his hate. Sure, it may have been stupid, but taking initiative is a good life lesson
Quoting this as an almost perfect example to my previous post, it is really easy to get locked into an echo chamber where a few vocal individuals can make what is normally seen or meant as humor towards a group that is generally easy to make a joke out of into hatred, and then how other members of the community can further perpetuate that hatred in a desire to fit in with the community.
If they tried this at a Facepunch Convention, no one would even care. [sp]The punchline is gas masks.[/sp]
If they tried this at a Facepunch Convention, no one would even care. [sp]The punchline is gas masks.[/sp]
That'd be a huge loss
Anyone who truly 100% believes the stereotype that all Furries are complete sickfucks and/or total sex freaks whom deserved to be injured or outright killed in some fashion: get the fuck out now, please. This mentality is extremely toxic and needs to be put down, especially if this bullshit is going to endanger the lives of innocent bystanders and promote terrorism against these groups of people.
