Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games are planning to unveil the "new era" of Call of Duty on Sunday.
Sledgehammer tweeted out the announcement, saying "[a new era] of Call of Duty arrives May 4th." In addition, the Call of Duty Twitter account changed its cover image to a photo of what looks like the Golden Gate Bridge with billowing smoke behind it, along with text claiming a "world reveal" is happening this weekend. And to complete the trio of teases, the franchise's official website has a countdown timer for the unveiling.
Call of Duty: Walrus Warfare.
Call of Duty 2k15
Shooters have always been predominantly sci-fi so it's not like they can run sci-fi into the ground like with WW2 and the modern setting. I can't wait for the villains to still always be Russian though.
It's about PMCs now, so maybe this time we'll be shooting Americans instead of Russians and brown people.
I've never seen a more relevant op avatar!

Now the main character is the dog. And FINALLY THE LEAVES will have ai that moves out of the way when you walk towards it, the programmers worked really hard on that. Can't wait for them to say they reinvented call of duty again.

the series
Kevin Spacey is apparently going to play the villain, and it's going to be about how PMC's are now the most powerful military force.
If this was any other title but Call of Duty, you wouldn't be nearly as cynical about it as you are with it.
Plus, it's made by treyarch, and they've been getting super good at making dumb, big action games.
I think it's super unfair how Treyarch makes military shooters with actual unique settings and setpeices and gets shit upon, but DICE gets a free ride making two of the exact same game in a row.

the series
Its been there for a while though.
No Treyarch, no purchase
May 4th? So it's going to be Call of Duty: Tactical Jedi inbound?
Wait, is it not treyarch? Nevermind. Disregard what I said.

that is fucking sick
if its the same shit all over again I'm going to be fucking pissed
but not at all surprised
If the gaming industry has taught me anything it's to not buy into early visual media because chances are the game won't look remotely as good at launch.

idk man crysis looked about this good
Call of Duty 18: Redcoats
Call of Duty 19: The Alamo
Call of Duty 20: Gettysburg

I actually kind of liked the Army of Two series.
Not because I thought it was good but since it was so over the top and stupid, especially Devil's Cartel. I couldn't help but laugh through almost the entire game while shooting peoples legs off with a pistol
Engine replacement?
Game-mechanics overhaul?
Innovative, thought-provoking story?
Psh. Yeah right.
Good luck expecting them to change game mechanics, those haven't been changed much since like, CoD 4. The biggest change i've seen was on Black Ops 2, with Treyarch's 10-point class system.
IMO the gameplay is already pretty solid, but I think balance is the biggest flaw in it.
[sp]also good luck wanting them to change the engine, they still want 60fps on consoles AFAIK[/sp]
