i'm a fucking idiot for spilling water i know. so here's the situation i had to buy a new motherboard, so I bought the intel dx58so, which is a pretty decent board aside from only 4 dimm slots. Anyway, so my Galaxy GTX 470 is not showing up when i boot. the pc seems to start up fine, no crashing, no beeping, POSTs fine, but it doesn't show anything on screen, just black. My monitor has always pissed me off, it is an acer x233h. I had to use a vga cable w/ dvi converter in the past to get it working, but even that doesnt work now. The card worked fine, and had no water on it. I haven't taken off the PCB cover w/e but on the actual pcb i see no visible oxidation at least on the edges Perhaps it may of been damaged along with the board. I had turned pc immediately off when it was wet, give/take 2 seconds, and let the components dry for 2 days. I've had the gtx 470 since launch, so it is fairly old i suppose, but nothing to break down like that, i would think. I'd RMA it but I'm not sure how the galaxy policy works , and how long the warranty is. I have never signed anything up... i bought it on newegg so the receipt is not the problem. If anyone has had any experience with Galaxy and RMAs do share, I have no idea where to start. Especially with the electrical protection when you send them it, where would I acquire that? http://www.galaxytechus.com/usa/supportRMA.aspx specs: Intel DX58SO i7 920 GTX 275 6+2gb ddr3 1600mhz ram so basically, i want to know about galaxy's RMA (any info is good) or quick fixes that don't void warranty. I would assume the rice trick will void the warranty, no? peace out~ edit: disregard, reseated a few times and it works.
