Luckily I caught it as I was grabbing some water. It started off slow and slowly got bigger and bigger. I had to push as hard as I can to keep the water from coming out while my mom grabbed a pump my dad uses to drain fish tanks. Everything was chaos, I was yelling my mom was yelling cats kept getting in our way, but I couldn't do anything because I was holding the tank closed.
Everything is ok now, but if that happened while we were away or in the middle of the night...
The Damage: (That's a custom stand he built for it, usually there's another wooden plank which the tank sits on top of, it's ugly but stable and was not the problem.

The full tank: (all of the rocks and stuff inside were removed, it didn't normally look like this.)

All this happened while my dad was at best buy and had his phone on silent. He said he's done with fish for a long time now. A little note, we've had so many fish tanks and fish. Since I was little my dad loved fish and fish tanks, he really knows a lot about them. We still have 1 tank left, but it's a small tank that probably won't break.
We rented a carpet cleaner and sucked up most of the water that escaped and it looks cleaner than the rest of the carpet now.
2/3 of the fish are alive, the 3rd one was MIA, we think it was sucked up the pump when we were trying to keep the thing from crashing down.
tl;dr: our fish tank started leaking and almost destroyed our house.
What kind of fish are they?

1 clownfish and 2 purple fish, he can't remember what they're called. Big tank for only 3 fish, but that's what he liked.
Saltwater then. You're probably going to want a carpet cleaner. Aquarium salt is unforgiving.

Yes we rented one and cleaned that area.
This thread made me go make sure I was using drip loops and the like to prevent fire incase my aquarium ever leaks or anything that could cause water to get out.

Use one of those plastic BBQ scrapers to clean the inside; or one of those freezer defrost scrapers.
