Hi, I need help with Garry's Mod 13 When I start a game or join the maps are very dark so that I can't see anything only with a lamp, the water is light white and lot of things are black and purple. pls help me i can't play when the game buggs so
What are your specs? Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date
Make sure you have Counter Strike: Source and that it's mounted properly.
yes, all my drivers are up to date and no I don't have Counter strike source but like the gm_construct map, this map is a garrys mod map.
Then verify your game cache and maybe turn off multi-core rendering.
how?
Multicore rendering is in video settings in-game, just make sure its set to "disabled". Its not very stable on most systems. To verify the game cache you right click on it in steam, hit properties, then on the LOCAL FILES tab you hit "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE".
To verify the game cache: Right click the game in steam, go on properties, go on the local files tab, and click verify integrity of game cache. To turn off multi-core rendering, open garry's mod and go into the graphics options, then turn it off from there
ok guys thanks now it works but the bullets are sick i had made a screenshot pls help http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198126996204/screenshots
You never posted your specs (computer specification), the game looks like it's running at a low detail level so your graphics card may not be able to cope with it.
Those hands look awfully like Counter-Strike hands. If you don't have Counter-Strike: Source you won't be able to use Counter-Strike: Source content without having graphical bugs like purple and black squares, giant flashing ERROR signs, and broken decals like you're experiencing. Just stay away from the Counter-Strike stuff if you can, but I highly recommend you buy Counter-Strike: Source if you want to play on pretty much any standard server.
my specs are windows xp 32bit 4gb ram but only 3.6gb shown because xp dont support more graphic card: intel r series 4 express chipset family (i dont know the exactly name) 120gb harddrive. i know that the graphiccard is really bad but i can do everything on high and it works without lags ( i forgot to change the graphics) but i had played the game some time ago and the bullets were normal
Windows supports more than 4GB and more but has to be 64bit, and on the note of Windows, I highly recommend you upgrade to Windows 7 or 8, Windows XP isn't really supported anymore, and that could be causing problems. Try running the game with -dxlevel 80 (there are guides online on how to do this if you're not sure)
http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198126996204/screenshots/ can you see the two pics? if i turn the light on i chave normal textures but theres something blue [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] -dxlevel 80 doesn't help
Many Intel graphics chipsets do not handle Garry's Mod well at all. That is probably your main issue, your graphics processor is just not powerful enough. Only the HD 3000 series and up can handle Garry's Mod decently and without many problems. You may have no FPS problems, but not many things will render correctly. Some are lucky enough to have it work from the get-go, but the majority are not. So your best bet to solve this is to buy a new graphics card. If you're on a laptop than tough luck unfortunately.
can i buy a external graphiccard?
They exist, but they're kind of expensive and a little hard to find, and they're all kind of... Iffy. They're not the greatest things to have. They're not very common so I don't know much about them. If you have the money to buy one you'd be better off just buying a new computer/buying parts and assembling your own.
can i play on 2gb ram windows 7 64bit amd 64 athlon x2 ati readon 4600HD 250gb harddrive?
Yeah, though your RAM might be an issue. That's quite a bit low. I had issues playing with 4 before adding another stick of 4 GB. Those specs seem very similar to an HP Pavilion DV series laptop, is it?
no :D its an Acer Aspire T160 but graphiccard and harddrive were changed
