• Can I somehow fool my 4g provider's sharing detection?
    4 replies, posted
So for the last 8 months I've had a pretty good 4g plan, unlimited data as long as I don't torrent anything (couldn't care less). However recently they've introduced a new condition - I can't share the connection with any other device (neither using wifi hotspot or over the cable). The only thing I sometimes really need to share my 4g to is my laptop. So is there any way to fool their sharing detection?
How do they even know you're sharing your connection?
They usually use TTL to detect this. You'll need to change TTL on the device you sharing the internet from. For android you can use TTL Master app. (root required)
Oh, so I do need root. Crap
You can try out FoxFi or pdanet. Some carriers still block that (like mine) but you can bypass some tether blocks still with it.
