(CNN) – Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said he was "very upset" for making the "47%" comments that became a big roadblock in his campaign last year in the final months before Election Day.
"There were a number of times that I said things that - that didn't come out right," he said in an interview with CNN Chief Political Analyst Gloria Borger.
Well too bad, it's way too late to backpedal.
well you win some you lose some

maybe if he backpedals hard enough he will rewind time and end up before the presidential elections

If anyone can do this it's Romney. He retired from Bain Capital 3 years before he retired from Bain Capital.
"There are 47% of people who are with him, who are dependent on government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, you-name-it," Romney said on the tape.
Well d'uh, you can't have a government without people.
And when shit hits the fan, it's nice to know there's a standardized safety net.
wasn't he crying like right after the election?
well you win some you lose some
And then you lose one so hard it comes back around, past win, and into lose again.

You mean everything you said.
Romney had to change what, over half of his old views for the republican ticket?
I can imagine that it'd be quite hard to just know how to say things perfectly when you have to be a fake in front of the world.
Considering analysts predicted Obama would win way before the election took place, it was almost admirable that Romney got so close at times.
I wonder if a better Republican could have won.
Hey guys ever consider it's probably just an apology and not a backpedal if he's not running for anything and has nothing to backpedal for
How can you be running for presidency and not be able to say things that come out right? That doesn't make you fit for being president. A president is careful with words.
This guy is just pathetically making excuses.
It's not that they didn't "come out right", it's that you accidentally let the entire rest of the country know how worthless you think they are.
God damn I am so happy that we didn't end up with an obscenely wealthy Wall Street elitist asshole as President. For all the shit Obama's administration has been busted for doing lately, I know Romney would have done all that and more.

I don't think you understand how much speaking the candidates have to do. According to your logic the president should be a perfect human being.

It was almost a defining character trait of Dubya, and when not adequately prepared beforehand Nixon had the grace and charm of a colostomy bag wearing a necktie.

I love how all politician apologies never admit they were wrong. there is no "right way" to say shitty opinions. People are entitled to health care, no amount of "coming out right" changes that

no because he is now saving his party's face, because running for president means you pretty much represent your party's policies, attitudes, ideas etc
there entire Republican party along with him are backpedaling

Is not about being perfect. Is knowing what, when and how to say stuff. Something a lot of politicians lack.
The fact that he blatantly insulted some companies (including the one my father works for) didn't really help him win the election either.
I am so god damn glad that idiot wasn't elected ... The guy who was happy about getting elected anyway because he didn't actually want to be president in the first place
Romney faced soaring criticism for saying at a private fundraiser that nearly half of Americans were victims "dependent" on the government and would vote for President Obama "no matter what."
Well insulting half of the American population which could have been potential voters was a terrible mistake. The whole corrupt businessman who avoids paying taxes also lost alot of votes.
Try to be the lesser dick when running in an election.
