• So why is the Dreamcast the best console ever, again?

Now, the most experience I've had with a Dreamcast was borrowing it from a friend in I think 2009 or 2010. It was good, but it was just a console. And since everybody loves the Dreamcast, it raised a question. Why is the Dreamcast the bestest console ever again? Why does everyone love it so much? Is it the games? Is it the hardware? Because if it's just the games then I can't get the hype. Either way I'd like to know/hear opinions.
It was way ahead of it's time when it released, with online capabilities (I know it wasn't the first online console before anybody mentions that) and a lot of the games are still really fun today. People also love it because it has zero copywrite protection, go figure It was a great console, but it's a little overhyped, that said I still have mine out for when my friends come round [editline]19th June 2013[/editline] And also probably because it was Segas last home console
It had some really awesome and quirky games that wouldn't work out on any other system. Plus I was able to play this [editline]a[/editline] It could also output at the same resolution as the Wii.
Because Shenmue, Jet Grind Radio, Soul Calibur, Sonic Adventures , Ikaruga, MvC, Crazy Taxi, Power Stone, Skies of Arcadia and Phantasy Star Online and many other great classic games
Quake 3
Quake 3 is the best MP shooter out there but you really need to play it with a mouse.

And motherfuckin' toy commander
The only game I really remember from the Dreamcast is Sonic Adventure. It was awesome to have the chao garden on that little memory card thing.
Dreamcast has a really high percentage of good games in its library. And for being out for such a short time, it really has a lot of good games. I remember my friend who bought one at launch felt like he "couldn't keep up" with all the games that were coming out for it. Once you get past the system's most famous games, there's still a lot more worth playing. Also, many people will tell you that DC was the first system to have "good" 3D graphics, what with Playstation and Saturn being all aliased and segmented and N64 being all blurry and undetailed. Better graphics than PS2 arguably, and most games support progressive scan.
