Is it because they are overpriced?
I was looking at the website and they look pretty nice, but are they worth the money?
oh boy this thread again
overpriced
crappy build quality
1337ware
It's because they are owned by Dell now. Even before that they weren't great.
They're a little silly. Look at them.
Design just sucks
Don't even ask. We might even break the record for thread lock.
Overpriced, all corners cut to save money, look stupid, shit support.
I have an Aurora 7500 I bought two years ago.
I've never had to upgrade it, never had to fuck around and reformat it, never had any real problems with it. I know everyone hates them because they're overpriced and a little over-the-top, but hey, if you can afford one, go for it. Otherwise don't be a crybaby.
tl;dr
They are worth the money because they are fucking built for gaming. Simple as that.

Can this guy get a title for biggest tool on Facepunch?
bad price/performance ratio i'd assume..
They cost can cost several times as much as they need too and they're ugly.
They just cost way too much, you can get a better pc for less.

but you dont take into consideration the fact that with the money you spend on an alienware pc, you might be able to build even a better pc with right choices.

the titanic went down in a sea of piss, and you happened to jump onto a yacht that was passing by
Overpriced to provide "top quality" support, by a line of 16 year olds with no help desk education that makes you fix it yourself.
Homebranded low-quality dell parts to make sure you can't upgrade without their help
Spammed the DR (Danish Radio) website with positive comments about their products, after nobody else did
Extreme overheating problems with some of their top-of-the-line laptops
Extreme battery-quality problems with many of their laptops
Everything else is the typical "Derp prebuilts are bad" and "Derp rice cases with flashy lights are bad" things.
Also Dell in general has a bad reputation with enterprise-level deals, as they refuse to repair broken computers.
They also don't follow country laws in other countries but in the USA, and have even had big problems with selling computers in Denmark
after they refused to repair broken computers that were still on warranty.

yeah mang, that ricer case with fancy lighting and a alien logo makes everyone think it's a 1337 gaming machine just by looking at it. i mean who cares about the internal specs right?

Build one yourself and get 80% more performance for the same price.
You pay $2500,- for something you can get for $1000,-

wow this poster clearly knows what they're talking about
everything I already knew about price/performance means nothing compared to the facts and compelling evidence shown in the quoted post
in all my time spent making sure my build used quality components and had good build quality, I forgot the most important part... LEDs

this was a sarcastic post, didn't think I'd need to point this out then realised I'm replying to a deluded alienware customer

You could build a nice SSD raid with the 1500 saved :clint:
They are ugly as fuck. If you spend more time mastrubating over your case than looking at whats on the fucking screen, you have a major problem!

Honestly, I'd gladly pay $100 extra for a specific case (Not nessecarily LEDs everywhere), and I did when I built my HTPC, literally $100 extra for a specific case.
It's not cause they're ugly.
It's cause they WILL fry.
One of my friends had an M17x, he was all smug about it, I told him that I would get that shit returned before it turns into a bonfire, and guess what happened when he had it for 4 months? BURN BABEH, BUUUURN!
And the support isn't even worth mentioning.
Only help they gave him was to reformat it and then say " it dun wurk, here have a shitty desktop as a replacement "

Overrated.
