I mainly play gmod. That is because my clan is centered around it. I don't play crysis and don't need the ultimate machine. So what are your thoughts on these. Current pricing is low. All I really do is browse face punch code and browse some more. https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=9056249 Anything I could swap. I need a CPU. You could buy a AMD Phenom X6 Black Edition if your only doing gaming or buy a quad core. All the other stuff looks all right to me.

The nice thing is that the CPU's of AMD are very cheap. AMD is kinda made for gaming if your only doing gaming as you said AMD. If your doing rendering and heavy video editing then Intel. But go for an HD5770 Its a very nice Graphic's card and I have a good experience with Sapphire. I have one myself and i can play Bc2 in 1920x1200 with everything on full and it runs nice all though i need a new cpu cos my Intel core 2 duo is kinda slow and my GPU is much faster than my CPU :/ But Yeah go for the CPU i suggested you and the GPU.

Well it runs pretty smooth and the fps is around 70-90 which i think is alright. And btw never ever have vsync on.

It's to do with synchronising the framerate of the game with the framerate that your monitor can display. Except it doesn't do it very well.

Depends on which Resolution he want's to play if he want's Wide Screen or Normal. I use a Widescreen with full HD its 23 inch has VGA and DVI and also HDMi input. Its from BenQ.

Next year I'll be spending my taxes money on a new pc. So this is just a pre-step to medium gaming pc.
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=9423349 The CPU could've been better, but I've gone with overall better quality rather than cheaping out on some parts to get better parts elsewhere.
Don't talk about quality whilst you have an RS 500 in there. Better than the above because.. DDR3 Quad instead of dual core Much better PSU Understated, reasonably priced case as opposed to the overpriced, trashy NZXT (this is a personal preference - the case is more your preference)
AMD Phenom II X4 955/965 or Intel Core i5 750 Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 (AMD Case) - ASUS P7P55D (Intel Case) Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus (AMD + Intel Chip) Kingston 2x2 Go (4GO) DDR3 1600Mhz Radeon HD 5770 (Sapphire 5770 Vapor-X or MSI R5770 HAWK) 2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 S-ATA - 500 Go - 16 Mo Optiarc AD-7240S Silverpower SP-SS500 500W Coolermaster CM-690 II [editline]04:31PM[/editline] You can choose between Intel or AMD case. Both are great.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131331
this is a better 5750 it costs a little more. but it is a 1gb and it is XFX so it comes with a double lifetime warranty
Seems the 4850 is slightly faster in some games whilst the 5750 is in others, with overall similar performance

The Phenom could also be swapped for a quad core Athlon, but I decided to select a Phenom because, actually I have no idea why.
He could take my build, drop the CPU to the Phenom 550, swap the 4850 for a 5770 or 4870, and if lucky, unlock two cores on the 550.
