What do you think?
Also I'm not quite sure if all these parts will fit and work well together. Expecially the fans, the motherboard and the case.
Can anyone help me on this?
Wait do you really need to spend that much?
Taking huge proco, huge (pointless) cg, and taking a Caviar GREEN (5400rpm).
WTF.
Throw your GTX480 away, take a HD5970 for the same price.
I think, do you realise what you are going to do on this system before spending 3k on it.
If you are going top of the line why not a top of the line cpu? Also get a better case.

Is it better than the 480?

I call bullshit
Also for example, at what settings could this build run i.e. Crysis, or Metro 2033 which is a bit more demanding? Very high?
I call bullshit
If I were bullshitting you, I wouldn't have wasted time gathering prices and images and setting up a thread like that.
Get rid of that GTX280, and get a 5970 and a proper 3rd party waterblock, inclusive waterblocks usually suck.
Is that a 980X? if so loose that too, it is no faster in games and the majority of programs than a i7 930.
And whats the point in the 2 PSU's?
HDD is slow too, and that case is crap for watercooling
also you dont need ultimate.
TBH is just looks like you picked out the most expensive parts and threw them into a list.
TBH is just looks like you picked out the most expensive parts and threw them into a list.
Exactly what I thought.
TBH is just looks like you picked out the most expensive parts and threw them into a list.
Well kinda..
I'd love to have a lower price, but I don't wanna suffer in performance. I really want to have the possibility for all games to run on maximum settings with no lag, that's what I'm trying to achieve.
I'd also need processing power for my personal need (3d graphics, mapping, video editing and such)

This is exactly what I thought as well, just for showing off.
Also for example, at what settings could this build run i.e. Crysis, or Metro 2033 which is a bit more demanding? Very high?
You could max both with a 5970 on metro 2033 i would expect around 55-60 fps.

But it's still stupid as fuck if you have no idea of what you're talking about. That GTX 480 comes with a watercooling block and since you aren't planning on getting a watercooling kit that simply means it's going to die as soon as you turn it on because it is not being cooled.
My problem with ATI is that it wouldn't support CUDA, and that kinda throws me off

Give us your budget, and we will spec you a machine, you cant just choose the most expensive thing in each section.

I thought it was included
Why are you water cooling your graphics card but not your CPU? That seems pretty redundant to me.
I thought it was included
Please dont buy all this and put it together yourself.
Give us your budget, and we will spec you a machine, you cant just choose the most expensive thing in each section.
Sure, well my budget can be between 1000 - 2900 $
I'd like to keep the GTX 480 tho
I'd like to keep the GTX 480 tho
Why do you need the 480? its an awful card.
Because ATI cards can't support CUDA
But well, I can get something better for the same price, okay then
Who gives a crap about CUDA?
You can't play games with physx, and I also need CUDA for some other stuff
Because ATI cards can't support CUDA

Why are you so set on having CUDA support? Unless you use a lot of encoding programs that have GPU support than it isn't much use to you.

When the 5970 is slightly cheaper and proven to run better in most games?
You can't play games with physx, and I also need CUDA for some other stuff
Like what?
Protip: There are hacked drivers that let you use a NV card as a PHYSX processor, while using an ATI GPU as a primary adapter

Get the nice looking GTX 480, the one with the grill, this one looks like shite.
You can't play games with physx, and I also need CUDA for some other stuff
You cant play the 5 games that support PhysX, anyway if you must have physX for some reason, buy a super cheap 2 series and run it as a dedicated physX card alongside a 5970

Yes, it looks better therefore it runs faster.
