I've heard a lot about them, and I've looked everywhere to find out what they are but i can't.
So what exactly is a Dedicated Server?
Those things modern warfare 2 doesn't have.

Zing.
A dedicated server is a server normally based on a machine specifically built for hosting. They stay up 24/7 (barring crashes), as opposed to listen servers which are only based on the host's computer and shut down when the host leaves.
