The popular astrophysicist is taking his talents to Fox and National Geographic to host a new 13-episode series, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. The series, slated for spring 2014, is a reboot of Carl Sagan's PBS hit Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, which aired more than 30 years ago. The trailer, above, debuted at Comic-Con in San Diego. It shows deGrasse Tyson in a modern version of Sagan's spacecraft, and also gives a sneak peek at prospective story lines in the form of live-action, animation and CGI sequences. Seth MacFarlane, as well as Sagan's widow Ann Druyan, are attached as executive producers. Druyan is also reportedly a writer for the new episodes.
Will air on Fox and National Geographic Channel.

Tyson is basically Sagan's protégé so I hope this lives up.
I hope this makes billions and billions of dollars.

my respect for Seth MacFarlane just shot up a shitton because of his part in this this wouldn't be happening without him gonna rewatch the original series in preparation
I'm wondering how much this will be like through the wormhole with Morgan Freeman they seem fairly similar from what I can tell.

He's a hell of a singer too. afaik, he's basically a bitch for Fox, though. Whatever puts the bread on the table, I guess.

McFarlanes a pretty decent guy outside his own show. He's a lot smarter than most people expect.

The sunshine music was a brilliant idea for the trailer! Fuck, it looks incredible.
