This program allows Amazon – not the seller or vendor – to identify trusted reviewers, and has a number of controls in place in order to keep bias out of the review process. Amazon has historically prohibited compensation for reviews – even going so far as to sue those businesses who pay for fake reviews, as well as the individuals who write them, in an effort to make its review and rating system fairer and more helpful to online shoppers. However, it has allowed businesses to offer products to customers in exchange for their “honest” review
READ MORE
Good riddance.
Yay! Now fix your damn UI, Amazon, it's been a pain in the fucking ass to browse for items since the dawn of time. Searching? Not bad. Browsing? Pain in the fucking ass.

Hahahahaha good! Makes me happy after my internship at this company doing this.
cutting out the competition under the guise of pro-consumerism ok
uh amazon is the company that refuses to sell the chromecast because it "doesn't support their service" when they purposefully break any apps that can cast amazon video this is like the least of their sins
someone linked this website on reddit a few weeks ago. http://reviewmeta.com/ as you can see some reviews are awful.
The only reason they've done this is because that Youtube video about incentivized reviews lit a massive fire under their asses. The video in question: [hd]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdLI62JKpCk[/hd] Now someone ought to make another viral Youtube video about how crappy their UI is.
Hahahahaha good! Makes me happy after my internship at this company doing this.
How was your internship? I may or may not be dipping my fingers into AWS in the near future. Any tips you may share? :v:
cutting out the competition under the guise of pro-consumerism ok
not really. amazon is a private service, they can do what they want with their shit, and if they feel like updating their guidelines to tell other business they can't do it, then that's that. it's like the eula agreement. they update it all the time, and you either accept it so you can use the service or don't accept it and don't use it.
cutting out the competition under the guise of pro-consumerism ok
I would pay Amazon myself to get rid of these fucking "honest" reviews. It has made buying electronics and stuff not dominated by name brands basically impossible. I have bought several things off the top of my head which were inflated by "honest" reviews which turned out to be total garbage. If Amazon wants to keep their Vine program up, more power to them. But this change is extremely good for 99% of Amazon shoppers.
I started to really notice this. It seems like every item I am interested in buying is just FILLED to the brim with all these fake reviews.
