Yeah but with the amount of work, dedication and skill required they could make something entirely new and awesome that will ultimately be better and yet obscure because homages are praised way more than original content.
What a waste of time. Morrowind is fine as it is, thanks to MGE and similar mods.

People did the same with bringing Morrowind to Oblivion. I wouldn't be surprised if the land of Tamriel was ported over to Skyrim as well. Not sure why these ports and recreations are more popular, but to each their own I suppose.
It's pretty much impossible to recreate the complexity and depth of Morrowind. If they do, I'm willing to shell out serious money on this.
I'd more like to see Cyrodiil than Morrowind, dat Imperial city
If they left the blocking mechanic of Skyrim I would be pretty happy.
Seems pretty awesome, although Vanderfall got wrecked pretty hard in the actual lore.

If they do even half as good a job as Black Mesa did for HL1... then I reckon it's worth while.
this'll turn out like Black Mesa
released in 10 years time

Unless they do actually get EVERYTHING working in there, then it's not going to be anything near the quality of BMS.

but that's impossible with skyrim's gameplay mechanics
They won't be able to finish it, because they will most likely tell those modders to cease and desist like they previously did to the oblivion-morrowind mod.

But they still work on it, they just can't upload anywhere but their own website, so if they put it on the nexus it gets taken down but I can go to their official website and download the latest version (September 9th)
This looks REALLY promising, but if it's supposed to be in the same time as Skyrim it wouldn't make sense, because Vvardenfell erupted
I'd more like to see Cyrodiil than Morrowind, dat Imperial city
if they do, they should make it not tiny
I really want to play morrowind, but I could never get past how terrible the combat was. Maybe now i'll be able to enjoy the game like everyone else.

That's not how cease and desist works.
Didn't the oblivion version of this just get shut down?

Only because they were directly ripping bethesda models. Beth said it's a-okay once they started the models/textures from scratch.
Watch this be the new Black Mesa Source...
They're just copying art assets and level design over. How is this even remotely like BMS.
Watch this be the new Black Mesa Source...
So a game that takes longer than DNF but actually comes out much better than expected for a mod ?
I'd love to see that.
I applied for this and got accepted, talked with one of the guys working on it and.
Pretty much most quests will be redone in the mod + oblivion will be remade after morrowind remake is finished.

Ah, I see. I guess that's gonna set them back a bit.
Wow now we can finally run around morrowind for the first time!
Glad to see someone attempting this, I found Morrowind's art style the best because it was so unique and cool.
I still play vanilla Morrowind from time to time, but I doubt this will ever earn such a special place in my heart.
