Seems like quite a bit, 1 out of 4 is way more than I thought it would be.
These kickstarter projects sound great in theory, but now every programmer or amateur with some disillusioned vision will start such a project and spamming the whole market with shitty "games". It gets really annoying.
couldnt they use a better chart... that one isnt even relevat to the article as it is clearly not about who reached over a million dollars
"Only" isn't exactly the right word here. I think a more appropriate headline would be "Holy shit, a quarter of all gaming projects reach their funding goal on Kickstarter!"

Fuck you, I hate it when people advertise shitty games and force me to be interested and support such games. A majority of these games are bad and they set ridiculous goals. Besides the gaming market is flooded with medicore games. People should develop games when they have a certain qualification and funds. There are some gems, I agree. But seriously some of those are crap. Then there are so called games like Mythic are scams.
Well I don't have fucking money to throw around all over the place. I'm happy to give, but there's only so much that I can give. There's only so much interest in some of these projects. More people would like to play a Double Fine adventure game or old school tactical shooter than a classic Sherlock Holmes game.
1/4 is pretty good. Keeps the mediocre games out.
Ehh, give it more time and I think that numbers gonna go up. In the last 45 days Double fine adventure, wasteland 2, and shadowrun returns all brought in a HUGE amount of new video game fan users who in turn began donating to other video games as well. Before they came along yeah I'm sure video game donations weren't great, but I'd like to think they're doing better now.

Are the developers threatening to kill your family if you don't give them five dollars or like them on Facebook?

I have never loved a game as much as I love that one.
I don't get the "only 25%" thing. Hell its pretty much a miracle that even THAT many are being funded. Besides, the reason that the other ones don't get funded are either that people don't want them, or people don't feel confident in spending their money on a project that they feel may not result in success.
hi guys pls pay for my shitty game it will get done i promise
This would be me But fortunately I know how fucking incompetent I am so it isn't.
I feel kind of stupid, why do some games require tens of thousands of dollars?
So many people are doing it I don't want to start a small kickstarter just to beable to pay someone to make music/art for a game I work on.
And what percentage have turned into actual games?
These kickstarter projects sound great in theory, but now every programmer or amateur with some disillusioned vision will start such a project and spamming the whole market with shitty "games". I expected it to be something like 10%. 25% is a lot.
I think it's good in a sense. It would be haywire if every single god damn project on there reached full funding. If you want more money, get a better idea.
