Don't we already know all about the console wars? I can say that I at least have researched it to some extent.
Seems rather cringe worthy to me.
I still love this nutshell by avgn
So it's Hyperdimension Neptunia with 3DPD
This could be okay if they go really in depth, like exactly why the Saturn and Dreamcast died despite being great systems.
It won't, though. A movie like that would never sell tickets.
Despite being a 90's kid, I don't remember much about Sega consoles. The only one I've seen in real life was a Genesis at a friend's house, back when the N64 and PS1 were the current gen consoles. I don't even know who that kid is anymore. We played Sonic on it.
There is a bit of irony in Sony having the rights to a Sega-vs-Nintendo console war film, especially after how the fifth generation panned out.
this has potential. i mean, people were skeptical of the social network and that turned out to be good

Were they really? I got nothing but hype before that movie came out.

i saw a fair deal of "oh man a facebook movie? that's retarded"
Saw 'console wars', thought xbox vs ps, realized how young I am.
There have been some pretty great movies about gaming history and culture, especially the more ridiculous parts. The King of Kong was absolutely brilliant.
This has potential.

At least the movie won't be so biased to one side right? Nintendo won the 16bit war though
Ah yes, this caused a big rift in my family, half of us had mega drives the other half had Snes from 1993-1997. We all went with the PlayStation in the late 90's though so no more fights. I remember boxing my cousin one Christmas morning over an argument on Mario vs Sonic, needless to say we both had our consoles taken away for the day :v:

Hate to bump, but I kinda wanna explain this. Sega won a lot of ground in areas like the UK, because Nintendo royally fucked the launch of the NES there by licensing it to Mattel. Until they released the SNES, it was really more of a competition between Sega and home computers like the Spectrum and the Amiga.

It's weird. Nintendo might be their competition now, but back then Sony was helping with Nintendo's hardware. I hope it isn't really biased on one side because that isn't fun. Also I hope they don't force Playstation into it half-assed at the end :v:
But what about the brain of the beast? I want some Neo-Geo, damm it.

Too bad Neo-Geo was expensive as fuck and SNK was never actually a competitor to Sega and Nintendo.
I hate movies like this because they make the games more known, which in turn makes collecting them even more fucking expensive than it already is.
I mean, holy shit:

Nintendo doesn't have blast processing.

To be fair there's 15 games there and almost all of them are great, Goldeneye, Smash, Zelda, Perfect Dark, Mario 64/Kart, Star Wars Podracer etc
it's about $16 per game for the current bid.

Yeah, but they're all games that are really common, are in relatively shit condition, and don't come with a manual or a box. That Majora's Mask cart is being held together by tape. Prices on games have gone up for no reason at all. Games I paid $5 for years ago are now $50+. Like, Super Mario 64 sold over 11 million copies, why the fuck do people try to sell it loose for $25? Or better yet, why do people pay that much for them?
