• Twitch CEO asks AMA posters why hes beating his wife

The CEO of Twitch did an AMA where he was asked why he hates the fighting game community. He replied by asking the user why he beats his wife. This hasn't been posted on any news yet. It seems like he already deleted the commend too. What a bunch of fucking clowns, seriously.
He is not literally claiming that /u/shaosam beat his wife. He is answering his loaded question "Why do you still hate the FGC?" with another loaded question. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loaded_question
Aside from being an informal fallacy depending on usage, such questions may be used as a rhetorical tool: the question attempts to limit direct replies to be those that serve the questioner's agenda. The traditional example is the question "Have you stopped beating your wife?" Whether the respondent answers yes or no, he will admit to having a wife and having beaten her at some time in the past.
If you want to give your company positive PR, don't do a Reddit AMA. Those things never end well for businesses.
Yep, not regretting switching over to Hitbox at all.
Even if it did have some sort of context, it would've been a complete and utter nonsense reply in addition to just being childish.
He is not literally claiming that /u/shaosam beat his wife. He is answering his loaded question "Why do you still hate the FGC?" with another loaded question.
Yes but thinking rationally would give people less ammunition against Twitch.
I don't see the problem, someone asked him a loaded question so he responded with an equally loaded question. For people who don't get it: no matter what response he gave he would still be saying he hates or hated the fighting game community.
He's probably pissed off at the amount of immature people that bombard him with hitbox shit and downvote everything he says.
Let's see what's on the calendar for next week's Reddit AMAs. :v:
Just.. why? These people have proven time and time again that they aren't to be reasoned with, and they've already done hundreds of interviews and documentaries to spout their hateful opinions - this exists for no other reason than to get people angry and start shouting at each other.
I thought that was a standard reply to point out a loaded question, like others posted above. "Why do you beat your wife?" is the adult version of the stupid middle school joke "Does your mom know you're gay?"

"Do your grandchildren know you lack bowel control?"

Wow, so many people in that thread are acting like children. Everything is a loaded question, or accusation. Under lots of questions is a comment like "but of course he'll never answer this question because it won't earn him more google money" and then when he answers the question they say oh it's a shitty pr answer. Twitch messed up, but acting like copyright laws, while needing to be changed, don't exist or that companies should ignore the laws is ridiculous.
He has to do the ama on reddit because even in slow mode all that'd be seen if he did it on twitch would be grey faces and raise your dongers.

Well, he didn't lie. They're checking audio against recorded streams, not live video.
Well, he didn't lie. They're checking audio against recorded streams, not live video.
Right but the question is how long will it be until they start muting live video.
no matter what response he gave he would still be saying he hates or hated the fighting game community.
Apart from "I never hated the FGC"
real question is does the guy actually hate the fgc or not
Oh I'm late [editline]7th August 2014[/editline] Oh automerge sorry
Twitch was always bad. Once they added that 5 minute delay between Streamer and Viewer, I shitcanned that garbage.

People want the answer they want to hear, so they'll ask loaded questions or downvote anything that goes against their expected answer.
Twitch was always bad. Once they added that 5 minute delay between Streamer and Viewer, I shitcanned that garbage.
5 minutes? where the hell did you get that from. it's anywhere from 15 seconds - 60 seconds, definitely not 5 minutes.
That's why Reddit [del]AMAs are[/del] is terrible. People want the answer they want to hear, so they'll ask loaded questions or downvote anything that goes against their expected answer.
nah thats just reddit in general edit (v that dumb was satire)
nah thats just reddit in general
Implying Facepunch is any better, we shower in dumbs stuff we don't want to hear.
5 minutes? where the hell did you get that from. it's anywhere from 15 seconds - 60 seconds, definitely not 5 minutes.
Nowadays it's more like 8-15 seconds.
