Filmmaker Michael Moore is debuting a new movie about Donald Trump that he began teasing just days ago. “Michael Moore in Trumpland” will first screen for free in New York City’s IFC Center on Tuesday night. "See the film Ohio Republicans tried to shut down,” reads a description of the film on the IFC Center’s website. "Oscar-winner Michael Moore dives right into hostile territory with his daring and hilarious one-man show, deep in the heart of TrumpLand in the weeks before the 2016 election.” Moore tweeted a tease to “finishing touches on an ‘October Surprise’ for this election” over the weekend.
http://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/in-the-know/301540-michael-moore-to-debut-surprise-trump-film
As much as I obviously despise Trump, I have no warmer feelings for Michael Moore. Dude is a sleezy, ignorant, "gotcha!" propagandist in the same vein as Alex Jones, imo.
One of the most dishonest journalists of our era
One of the most dishonest journalists of our era
I don't think I've ever associated the word "journalist" with Michael Moore.
I don't know what I would call him other than 'propagandist' and 'liar' to be honest
The left wing Alex Jones
Where any of his documentaries credible in anyway? I've never seen any of them, I just know they're controversial to say the least.
Where any of his documentaries credible in anyway? I've never seen any of them, I just know they're controversial to say the least.
It's just running after people, cornering them and harassing them with questions about a controversial topic, and then taking their exasperated answers as concrete evidence for....something idk

He's still has a huge number of followers. Fahrenheit 9/11 had a big impact on public opinion at the time of its release.
fuck moore I remember reading one of his books and his celebrating that the male birth rate was down, talking about how the earth prefers women for some reason; another part of the book had him pledging to hire only blacks to stop discrimination his "we are all muslim" stunt was stupid and I hope this movie flops
He is increasingly sounding like one of those far left idiots.
and I hope this movie flops
Tbh Trump has so blatantly wrecked his campaign with his own words day after day, I can't conceive of any "new, relevant" information Moore could possibly reveal in this film that would hinder him further.
Where any of his documentaries credible in anyway? I've never seen any of them, I just know they're controversial to say the least.
Some of them are interesting if you ignore the odd political angle he'll push, like Bowling for Columbine.
He's still has a huge number of followers. Fahrenheit 9/11 had a big impact on public opinion at the time of its release.
Michael Moore single-handedly destroyed documentaries forever. Documentaries, prior to Moore, used to be no more untrustworthy than any other form of media. After Moore, everyone aped his utter dishonesty and now documentaries are uniquely misleading and untrustworthy among any form of political media. He produced one of the worst documentaries ever, and the public and media rewarded him for it, then everyone else followed.
He also did Canadian Bacon, which was pretty OK.

Surely there are still factual and very important documentaries being produced today? Or are we talking in a purely political fashion? I wouldn't be surprised if he did cause a lot of damage though in general.
Oh yeah, it's probably too far. But documentaries are typically really, really bad nowadays (relative to other political media) for any information in my experience (and it isn't because I disagree with a lot of them!). And I think that Michael Moore was certainly one of the main catalysts to cause this move.
I love Michael Moore. :c
I can't tell if this is bait
I can't tell if this is bait
It's almost like people have opinions that don't match your own.
It's almost like people have opinions that don't match your own.
That's why I can't tell
I've only seen Bowling for Columbine and Sicko, I found them interesting. I can see how people would be peeved by his far-left agenda-pushing and the way he angles some "interviews" to make the subjects appear unsympathetic, but does his documentaries actually contain falsehoods?

It's extremely disheartening to hear that he is slumping into 'crazy left wing SJW' territory based on these comments, but can people provide some sources? I mean, with things like 'We Are All Muslims' it was my understanding that it was more about 'Muslims are people, Christians are people, everyone is a human being' in response to Trumps rhetoric? Anyway if anyone has any write ups on Moore's left wing craziness I'm open to read it
The only documentary worth a damn is Bowling for Columbine, then he became famous and it went straight to his head the same way Bill Mahr's first debate win made him think he's always right.
He is increasingly sounding like one of those far left idiots. Note to self, politics in America is completely fucked...
If you lived here that would've been evident much, much earlier.
Michael Moore produces some worthwhile documentaries though. One of which I saw was "Where to Invade Next?" where most the film was dedicated to talking with people in different European Nations on subjects like: Paid vacation, Paid family leave, Education, Drugs, Taxes, etc. Michael Moore barely even talks about his own views when it comes to these things in the film, he just interviews people and talks about how people in European nations view the U.S on it's current stance on these issues. It's a must watch for anyone who wants to know what people in European countries think of us right now. I don't exactly agree with his views personally (His views align on Democratic Socialism, where as mine is that of a Social Democrat) however his content does provide some useful insight in some subjects, and he does push his angle a little too rough though and I can understand why people are a little upset about his content.
The only documentary worth a damn is Bowling for Columbine, then he became famous and it went straight to his head the same way Bill Mahr's first debate win made him think he's always right.
Even bowling for columbine was garbage in terms of being a "documentary". As far as propaganda, it's perfect, but far from a documentary.
I honestly feel like people like Michael Moore do more damage to their cause then help it with his bullshit films
