Surely, it's both, right? Right?! And we're not talking about any free handouts or anything; this is simply the option to purchase health insurance coverage from your employer, the federal government. Sorry :( Source: http://wonkroom.thinkprogress.org/2010/10/14/benefits-pets/ I love the part about how great it is that one can purchase health coverage pets in these challenging economic times. In short, pets are valued and humanized more by this government than same-sex partners. That's just ruff.
lol Non human-animals are almost nothing compared to humans imo.
OP, what's with you and gays?
OP, what's with you and gays?
I'm guessing he cares about sexual equality.
I'm guessing he cares about sexual equality.
Well of course
OP, what's with you and gays?
Gucci avatar, Hellloooooooo
You do realize the only thing that this offer has to do with the federal government is that it is an offer for federal employees, and has nothing to do with federal decisions. Aetna is a privately owned corporation subject to it's own decisions, not federal.
Did you know the CIA food court has a McDonalds? Clearly they value selling burgers more than same-sex partners.
lol Non human-animals are almost nothing compared to humans imo.
Agreed. Unless they're an intelligent alien race or something. Or dolphins of relatively above average intelligence or something.
Did you know the CIA food court has a McDonalds? Clearly they value selling burgers more than same-sex partners.
Have you actually tried to sell same-sex partners?

Gucci Mane, it's a rapper
Have you actually tried to sell same-sex partners?
Only in Thailand. [editline]17th October 2010[/editline] What's the point of this thread again? Same-sex marriage is illegal, so this is like complaining you can't smoke pot in your car. It's redundant and needlessly specific considering that it's just of facet of the larger problem.
Is there a difference? :v:

What DOMA means is that you can't purchase insurance through federal government lines. There is nothing preventing them from purchasing insurance outside of there federal employers.

Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the District of Columbia

Otherwise, why would the program exist?
The Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) is a system of "managed competition" through which employee health benefits are provided to civilian government employees and annuitants of the United States government. Workers pay one-third of the cost of insurance, the government pays the other two-thirds.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Employees_Health_Benefits_Program
It's legal in CA too [editline]16th October 2010[/editline] Well it will be
So basically this is not-so-subtly implying that homosexuals are worth less than dogs. Nice, federal government.
Did anyone miss the part where because its a federal law, and that company is subject to federal law they wouldn't do it anyway? Again blaming the federal government over societal change thats been trying to happen since the 70's isn't going to do anything. Especially when most likely the people who gave the okay, had no say over it and just told them they couldn't do it. But yes its okay to blame every bureaucrat for the politicians idiocy. Its not like they could lose their jobs.:downs:
Animal Health insurance should be 100% free.
