ome news, since last quarter saw Google's income slump to just $2.18bn. The dip seems to have done little to slow the company's overall growth, though, as its annual profits were $10.73bn for fiscal 2012, a 10.3 per cent gain over its $9.74bn profit for 2011.
Google's non-GAAP profit for the fourth quarter was $10.65 per share, beating most estimates. The 30 analysts polled by Yahoo! Finance expected the online ad-slinger to earn $10.52 per share, on average, while MarketWatch's 38 prognosticators predicted $10.57 per share.

That decline is part of a trend in Google's advertising business. In Q4 of 2011, the company reported an 8 per cent drop in cost-per-click from Q4 2010, and subsequent quarters have shown similar year-on-year shrinkage. But at least this quarter's decrease isn't as bad as last qu
Would a company that earns that much money and keeps it actually reverse inflation?
50bn revenue and still shitting over youtube with ads all over the videos

A business trying to make money? I can't believe that.
Are you really that stupid?

I'd widely prefer Youtube being FILLED with ads all over the place and have the videos run smoothly without ads popping out either at the start or through the video than the current system.
Right now there is a single closable ad that pops up on top of the screen and everything else is rubbed in your face while you try to watch something. It's irritating, dumb and just fucking ridiculous. At least if they put all their ads AROUND the videos rather than stop it you'd be able to fullscreen and not notice them, even though google would still get the money out the advertisement.
Then get a ad blocker if it is bothering you that much.

Oh but I am, don't worry about it.
I just wish I'd be able to support one of my favorite website without having my videos cut by obnoxious ads.

Google are able to keep their services free with the use of advertisements. You can't expect them to run services at a loss, surely?

I just want them to change their advertisement methods. There are much better ways of putting ads on your websites than cutting the videos with obnoxious advertisements you can't skip or can only delay.

Ok, marketing genius, how would you do it? Also it's the only way they can make money from these ads, if they assume that the majority go with adblocker also these ads are like 1.00-2.00 not much more, it's still a hell of a lot better than tv and far far better than paying for youtube

Either fill the massive empty spaces of the current layout with ads, put banners that you can close over the vids rather than interrupting videos, or both.
[editline]24th January 2013[/editline]
And stop paying youtube celebrities up to a million a year for making shitty vlogs, that'll save you a bit of money too.

Yeah because that doesnt sound annoying at all either

as if we dont have those already??????

At least putting your video in full screen will be enough to hide them

Proving that side ads don't work.
I also enjoy your retarded outlook on things:
Hmm, youtube pay lots of money to keep that channel going and bringing us in users, wow they're right that guy has loads of subscribers! Lemme watch, oh it's a vlog?....ITS SHIT, YOUTUBE ARE GAY WHY DO THEY PAY HIM UGH, I'M RIGHT EVERYONE ELSE WHO LIKES THIS GUY IS A FAGGOT AND ARE DUMB! THEY ARE WRONG! I AM RIGHT! RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT AND BECAUSE OF THESE IDIOTS I HAVE TO WATCH 1 MINUTE OF ADVERTISEMENT AT THE BEGINNING OF MY VIDEO TO KEEP THIS GREAT SERVICE FREE!
The people you should be blaming is the person who runs the channel. Google doesn't choose to put a video ad before the video you want to watch, the person running the channel does or the copyright holder.
Google gives them lots of options on how to place ads.

Google isn't paying them to make vlogs. I don't know what you think. Those "Vloggers" signed a contract that was understood by both, Google pays for the amount of clicks those users generate, just like any other major ad system. Google then pays the user for that.
Vlogs are a cheap way to do this if the person seems interesting to viewers.
Ads on youtube aren't that annoying.
Just wait 5 seconds and close them. Unless they come in the smaller package and you can't run them, or rarely, the big package you should be able to close, but you can't...
