Hey, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a free program that can help improve the performance and/or speed of my laptop, I was trying download a simple Minecraft texture pack and it said it would take 5 hrs. and I was stuck waiting 5 hrs., I've also seen huge amounts lag in every game I play, any suggestions?
There isn't anything you can download to speed up your internet connection speed.
Get a better laptop and a decent internet connection.

What I meant to say was that I need a program that can get rid of junk files and clear up my memory.
If you are having issues with your computer, you are better off asking Technical Support. Threads like this won't go very far in GD.
Delete system 32 so your computer has less crap clogging it up.

..... seriously
I can recommend Game Booster or TCP Optimizer. Those didn't fail me.
I have the bad feeling that this thread should have been posted in technical support.

If your running on wireless internet type this into the command prompt
ping 192.168.1.1 -t
Should be <1ms-10ms every time it pings, you can use this to find hot and cold spots in your house.
From the sound of it you just have crappy internet.
