http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canker_sores I'm just starting to form another fucking one behind my very back bottom right tooth/cheek area. Just wondering if anyone else gets these. If so, what is your way of treating the pain?
A lot of people get these sores; Brush your teeth, use a mouthwash and floss to reduce the chances of getting them.

I used to have a lot of them, then I realized that the whiting in toothpaste was causing it.
I get these occasionally, maybe once or twice a year. They hardly hurt at all, but if it annoys me I just swish some salt water.
Wash your mouth out with salt water, concentrate on the affected area, should help. Serious. [editline]yeah[/editline] Lakitu god damnit
So it's an ulcerous ulcer? :raise:
No fucking clue, just copied/pasted article title
I bite them off like a man.
Any time I get these I have to drink milk before eating anything.
I bite them off like a man.
I endure the pain like a man
I get them every now and then, they're really not that bad.
FOR GOD FUCKING SAKES, DO NOT POKE AND PROD AT IT WITH YOUR TONGUE!
But... I am compelled to. The pain is exquisite. :ohdear:
I also recall developing one of these sores when I was young, my mother gave me an Asian powder medicine that can quickly numb the pain and heal the sore. Of course, it had an offside of being extremely bitter and it would make you gag if you swallowed even the tiniest portion of it. I can't seem to recall the name of the medicine though....
I just apply some iodine mouthwash. Burns like hell for a while but I don't feel a thing for several hours and if I keep doing it, it's gone within a few days. My dad used to get these too, he once cut one off with a pair of scissors. Next day there was a new one right next to the one he cut off
I usually put something strong on it (marmite/vegemite/myrr etc) and hold it there. Stings like nothing else but it sends the nerves into shock for a bit (no pain for a few hours), so I think it's worth it.
I stopped getting these after I started to brush my teeth every morning, night instead of infrequently throughout the week.
Dap a Q-Tip or something like that with water, dip it in salt, apply directly to the sore.
Get this stuff. It's expensive (like $10 for a bottle the size of your finger) but it's SUCH A HUGE FUCKING RELIEF I can't even describe it. Just go buy some. Right now.
I get these every time I get a > 1 nanometer hole in my gum/cheeks, I just regularly pour salt on it so I'm actually able to eat something. It sucks to be sensitive to this. The most painful one I've had was a double one, two right next to each other on the 'hinge' or 'corner' of my gum where the rearmost teeth are, it'd be hell whenever I even moved my jaw.
I used to always get this shit. And due to my OCD, I'd have this habit where I'd continually chew on it.
I got one when my dad had to leave the country for a while.
I find that if it is in a place where I can do this I will pull on it. It will hurt but from there on it doesn't feel so bad anymore.
I just ignore them
i have no idea what that is.
They're not that bad, and the pain isn't all that bad really, i kinda like it, I'm weird :(. Just don't bite it, now THAT hurts.
I rinse my mouth with salt water once a day when I get one. Despite what you might think, this doesn't hurt. It actually provides some relief, and will cause the sore to heal sooner.
Wow, you guys are pussies. I have this about every 2 months, especially when I'm stressed or very tired. I usually have 2 of them at the same time and I tend to bite on them by accident when I'm eating. They're gone after a week, man up.
Nah, I hear it is a result of bacteria due to poor dental health. You scrubbers.
Nah, I hear it is a result of bacteria due to poor dental health. Unless I brush with a certain toothpaste, which diminishes the chance a little bit. In all times that I've had an ulcer I can very well remember 3 or so mouth wounds that didn't develop into an ulcer.
Yes I do *sob*
