I've been using windows 7 ultiamte 64-bit for a while now, but a couple of days ago I slightly overcolcked my cpu(first I downclocked it, I made a mistake), than I encountered a bsod, so I set the bios back to factory settings and it was all running fine, than suddenly, windows desktop manager stoped working and a few minutes later bsod hits again so now, bsod shows up every half an hour or so, also sometimes windows desktop manager stops working btw-bsod is only shownig when I'm surfing or something, when I'm playing a game it just wouldn't show up It looks like when the cpu is not under load it downclocks and it may become unstable Help please!!
What did you overclock your cpu to/from?
Even though I've never OC'd, I read that CPU speed doesn't cause damage, voltage does. Did you check that?
What did you overclock your cpu to/from?
I have an athlon x2 7750 2,7 GHz stock clock first I didn't know the stock multiplyer(because it said "auto" in bios)so I didn't want set it to high, and the cpu was clocked at 1,5 GHz, so I increased the multiplayer, and it was than clocked at 2,7 GHz, than because the multiplyer is locked, I increased the clock from 200MHz to 205MHz and increased the voltage a little(I don't remember how much), than the system became unstable, so I set the factory settings
1.5 to 2.7 is kinda a big jump without proper cooling.
Upload everything that's in your windows/minidump folder.
Yes, it does must be that hard. In all seriousness, don't go OC'ing when you don't know the first thing about it.
