Coca Cola's Super Bowl commercial featuring a multilingual rendition of "America the Beautiful" was refreshing to many — but left a bitter taste in the mouth of conservative pundits.
The one-minute ad called "It's beautiful" — in which the patriotic standard is sung in seven different languages — was meant to showcase the country's "incredible diversity," in the words of the soft drink company.
But radio host Glenn Beck told his listeners Monday that the ad is selling a divided America.
"So somebody tweeted last night and said, 'Glenn, what did you think of the Coke ad?,' Beck said in a segment flagged by Buzzfeed.

Resistance Is Futile.
Glenn Beck.
the ad’s purpose was to “divide us politically.”
Oh my god in heaven, what
Did people forget about the interracial cheerios commercial
I was expected /pol/ to explode at that one
why
because people don't like things that are different, no matter where they're from. If Marmite ran a 60 second commercial during the world cup that had Arabs and Gyspies singing God Save the Queen in Arabic, then a good chunk of the UK would be pissed off too.
"ugh they sang in languages other than british how anti-american"
People forget that this country was built by immigrants, go look up your family's history and sure enough you will find someone of another nationality.
I actually thought the ad was a bit too long for a Coke commercial, but I don't understand. Do people really need to overreact over a soda commercial?
It was obviously Coke's master plan to divide us, see it's working, look all this political division.*
I didn't like it because I thought it was too imperialistic and nationalistic for family-friendly programming.
But I am a filthy communist...
Uniting different versions of the same song together.
Yep, Coca Cola is devising a divide and conquer plan on America.
It's obvious they want another Civil War.
Oh god, this is gold, I love when morons do this shit.
Coke and Sprite are the only soft drinks worth drinking imho. Commercial didn't do much for me but the reactions are hilarious. Besides, in all honesty there are plenty of OTHER reasons to be angry with Coke.
"muh patriotism"

the commercial in case you missed it.

Fuck the haters.
That commercial was excellent.
The reception this add got really showed that if some kind of apocalyptic scenario occured that forced all of humanity to put aside their differences and quarrels to do something good together for once...
we'd all be fucking dead.
Glenn Beck pissed off about diversity in a Coke commercial? Nothing shocking there. Glenn Beck once angrily stormed out of a Star Wars premiere when he realized "The Phantom Menace" wasn't Jews.
Glenn Beck hates America
Why is Glenn Beck still relevant?
The important question to be asked here is, should anyone really give a shit if you drink Coke or not based on this ad
(the answer is no)
the commercial in case you missed it.
And they are pissed off about THIS? Oh god....my sides....they hurt. :v:
Glenn Beck hates everything except white/christian/heterosexual males and guns
ftfy
usa is weird
Pepsi is better.
Still I don't see anything wrong with the commercial and it just shows how much of a melting pot we are.
Oh and Glenn Beck is an idiot.
Fuck the haters.
That commercial was excellent.
I think everyone here can agree that any kind of negative reaction to something like this means they are looking for an excuse to be butthurt.
Why is Glenn Beck still relevant?
the big secret: he's not
"muh patriotism"
also why isnt this bannable? its just as bad as using ">" or whatever
I honestly feel like this is a genius way to advertise. Take something rational that you know would miff some irrational people off and they would endlessly moan on social networks and BLAM! Twice the advertising without twice the effort. Honestly, I stopped caring for Superbowl commercials this year. But this whole unnecessary controversy caused by Coca Cola's advert brought it to many indifferent eyes like mine.
In short, this is like a mutated form of viral advertising.
Our current country was a then mish mash of native American/English/French/Spanish territories that then only became a country after a war that if not for France we possibly would have lost, that now has over 300 million people with many millions being from other countries with many millions more who are originally from other countries, and Glenn Beck, the guy who can't go 30 minutes without blabbering on about our founding fathers who were born in "British America" by the way says it's selling a divided America?
Bitch whatchu smokin'
