I've just got a document to recover, it's a Word 2007 document saved as .doc I've tried to open it in NeoOffice, Mariner Write, Textwrangler but to no avail, it has missing pages and weird Chinese or Japanese (who knows) characters. I've also tried renaming the file but still no go. I've tried using Linux, Windows and OSX, without any good effects. If you can recover it, please do it's a work of my dad's friend. It's pretty long from what my dad said, about 50 pages. It's in Polish.

Thanks in advance.
Any idea how it was damaged in the first place?

I've just opened it in OpenOffice and the footnotes and the last 4 or so pages seem to be Ok. Was this the case for you?
It was probably damaged by pulling the pendrive too fast, I have no idea what actually happened but she said that she probably did so. Most of the document is filled with chinese characters. This document is in Polish. :saddowns:
I've had a look at it and unfortunately I think Hellborg's conclusion is accurate. I don't know of any way to repair it. Sorry. :ohdear:
It's okay, it doesn't actually affect me, but as I wrote earlier, dad's friend. :v:
Thanks for help anyways!

Word might be able to "AutoRecover" it.
