• My ASUS monitor will not pick up my PS3's HDMI after a random power outage.

Note: I have a setup up where I use the same monitor for my PC and PS3. Earlier I was on my PS3 when a random power outage caused it to shut off incorrectly. Once power was restored I tried to turn it back on again, but instead I only got a black screen. So I tried hooking it up to another TV, and it worked perfectly fine! After that I took it back to my room and tried to see if I somehow fixed what ever was wrong with it, but I still got the black screen. Can some one please tell me what could be causing this?
The ps3 works on other monitors? must be gremlins. do other HDMI devices work on that monitor?
The power outage could have damaged the HDMI ports
I tried to see if that was the case, so I plugged my PC's HDMI to the same port where I had the PS3's and it displayed with out any problems.
Solved! I Reset the surge protector my monitor was plugged into and then it started to properly display my PS3. How strange.
