Basically,go into Audacity, click on File -> Import -> Raw data and select anything.
Sometimes it sounds like pure earrape, but sometimes it sounds almost musical, like this that I ''made'': **may be loud!**

It's an .exe in the Windows Movie Player folder.

This may be the wrong forum, but I have no clue where this should go.
After testing I've concluded that .png files are rubbish (all the same static) and .bmp files make some very interesting noises
Ah man! I remember doing experiments like this! I have a whole folder full of programs that have been converted into wave files. My favorite one was Photoshop CS5. It was a 17 minute long monster with bass drop at the end!
About a week ago I got a picture of a Pink Floyd album cover and made it so that when you played the raw data in audacity it played one of their songs, not that hard to do, but still cool. I'll make another one soon because I deleted the one I made because I didn't think a thread like this show up.
save this image as raw data in photoshop, and then import it into audacity

Save as raw and play in audacity.

.vmf files have some pretty weird results.

Images and text files are usually boring static.

Oh, damn it. You might have to download those if you want to listen to them if you're on Chrome

Lower your volume (loud noise at 3 seconds)

Opened the Source 2007 sound gcf. This crap almost tells a story.

PDF seems to contain alarm-like sounds.
I remember opening a photoshop document at 8000-16000 Hz. It sounded like an electronic cow angrily mooing and using Dial-Up. I am going to include a link to it soon.
Also, if you open any GCF audio files, Flash documents, and Powerpoint Presentations you can hear the sounds in them.
This is also a really good way to modify images if you add effects to the sound and then import it back as an image, we used to have a thread about it but its gone now.
map files of games that run on Unreal engine produce interesting noise

That's actually a smaller version of what I have, the actual image I used was a 20mb large .bmp. :v:

Hopefully this isn't a bump but
I found a bunch of Wheatly voice clips in the TF2 sound file tf2_sound_vo_english_006.

Oh. Didn't know that.
Anyways
MUGEN .snd files work fine when imported, aside from a few speed shifts and static.

Alright, I uploaded the "Electronic cow using dial-up" noise.
https://app.box.com/s/en5jose7qztp62tlvul3
Oh, I also made a strider-like noise with the G-Verb effect and some data sound from an EXE to make this.

Caution: Loud buzzing.
Ran a packet capture while downloading a WAV file (Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" specifically) over SMB played with MP-C. Its a lot more intact than I expected it to be.
Interestingly, you can hear that you don't download it sequentially, but rather in chunks out of order.
