[release]BACHMANN: What people recognize is that there’s a fear that the United States is in an unstoppable decline. They see the rise of China, the rise of India, the rise of the Soviet Union and our loss militarily going forward. And especially with this very bad debt ceiling bill, what we have done is given a favor to President Obama and the first thing he’ll whack is five hundred billion out of the military defense at a time when we’re fighting three wars. People recognize that.[/release] And this woman won the straw poll folks. Source: http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/08/18/299057/michele-bachmann-soviet-union-flub/
how the fuck can she not know that the soviet union went under in 91'. also india? really? what do we have against india?
For fuck's sake Bachmann.
also india? really? what do we have against india?
I think it has something to do with the fact that they aren't white and Christian.
I think it has something to do with the fact that they aren't white and Christian.
Of course that's not why! Those awful Buddhists are one of the most violent cultures ever!
how the fuck can she not know that the soviet union went under in 91'. also india? really? what do we have against india?
Pretty sure she knows that, but she just has some stupid conspiracy or something, or it's a mistake. Actually it's pretty hard to interpret what the fuck she means but most likely she knows it went under
how the fuck can she not know that the soviet union went under in 91'. also india? really? what do we have against india?
Fear of losing jobs to outsourcing Naturally her solution is to make our country an equally terrible place to work by eliminating minimum wage.
how the fuck can she not know that the soviet union went under in 91'. also india? really? what do we have against india?
because its a scary thought to many americans that we arent going to be on top of the world anymore it isnt anything against india, its against them being more economically influential than us
I'll go build a time machine and push her back to the late 80's. She'll be more relevant there.
Pretty sure she knows that, but she just has some stupid conspiracy or something, or it's a mistake. Actually it's pretty hard to interpret what the fuck she means but most likely she knows it went under
I don't know about that, she doesn't even correct herself, she just keeps talking.
Pretty sure she knows that, but she just has some stupid conspiracy or something, or it's a mistake. Actually it's pretty hard to interpret what the fuck she means but most likely she knows it went under
she might have just meant that many people in the 60s saw the rise of the ussr or some shit remember bachmann is pretty much unintelligable sometimes with how stupid she phrases shit, so she could mean practically anything
I think this image explains everything:
I don't know about that, she doesn't even correct herself, she just keeps talking.
she is probably so used to wording her ideas like an idiot that she doesnt even bother to correct herself anymore, she just expects everyone to know what she means
how the fuck can she not know that the soviet union went under in 91'. also india? really? what do we have against india?
Jobs are going there, so its a threat. Who the hell allowed the companies to outsource to China/India/Russia/some other country. Also, Soviet Union is dead Bachmann, it was dead in '91. Does she not know history? I mean, it was when H.W Bush was president, and the one thing Bush(H.W) and Bachmann have in common is being Republican. How can someone, wait, never mind, she is one of them crazy Tea Party Republicans, right? Please Republicans/people in the Tea Party and Republican party, nominate Bachmann or Palin for the Republican ticket. That way, it will be an easy win for the Democrats.
I don't know about that, she doesn't even correct herself, she just keeps talking.
It's very far-fetched that she doesn't know about it. It's just more likely she doesn't in my belief.
Late x 20 years
Basic history = 38, Michele Bachmann = 0
If there's a higher power out there, PLEASE don't let Bachmann win the election.
I thought she couldn't get any dumber.
i just told my dad about it. he says he understands the soviet union thing. he says its silly but he still wants to call russia the soviet union all the time, since for most of his life it was referred to as the soviet union. worded like that i can understand why she said it, even though it was very uneducated to say.
Can't find an english version, sorry. This must've been what she saw :eng101:
I imagine she was her attic and saw a newspaper from the 80s about the Soviet Union and freaked out
I would freak out too if I was my attic
Pretty sure she knows that, but she just has some stupid conspiracy or something, or it's a mistake. Actually it's pretty hard to interpret what the fuck she means but most likely she knows it went under
Maybe she thinks its like some kinda rise of the 4th Reich with people instead of trying to clone Hitler, are trying to clone the man of steel himself, Stalin, and usher in a new era of cold war between the waning global superpowers of today.

However. This is supposed to be the leading candidate for the GOP, and they make comments this dumb or poorly phrased? It's ludicrous!
"Most Americans are afraid of spiders." - Bachmann "TO WAR, MEN!"

Can we get a Bachmann mega thread? I feel like there are five threads a day about the dumb things she says.
