Hello, well the title of the thread says it really. I recently installed kubuntu and on the start screen where it says something similar to this:

My keyboard doesn't work and nor does my mouse. I have a USB keyboard and mouse. A razer lycosa keyboard to be exact and I can't choose what operating system I want to use because the functionality of the keyboard doesn't work until it gets passed the loading screen.
I am current running Windows 7 64 Bit. I also have all the drivers installed for the USB ports. I should mention that Ps/2 keyboards work on start up just not USB.
Thanks in advance.
Some USB keyboards don't work on startup, if you have a USB to PS2 converter, then you can plug it into the ps2 port at least for startup, then switch back to usb.
Yeahi was considering that but it would be more hassle and annoying at the least.
EDIT:
A friend of mine has a Lycosa and his works on start up fine.
Check in BIOS then, sometimes the motherboard won't initialize USB until later in startup.
I'll give it a try I just don't want to mess anything up.
turn on legacy USB support in bios.
You'll need a PS2 keyboard to do this.
I managed to fix it the way "Richard Simmons" said. Thanks a bunch a guys.
