• Forwarding a port?

Disclaimer: Hello facepunchers, I have a bit of a pickle that I hope some of you can help me solve. See I use the bittorrent client to send my brother's coach torrent files of his game films for editing (saves time and money rather than mailing them or uploading them), I also downloaded patches this way (Relic releases almost exclusively through bittorrent). So please no OMFG PIRATEZ LOLZ! Actual Question: We recently switched from AT&T to Charter and now the port for utorrent is no longer forwarded. I share the network with others and can't access the routers settings page. Does anyone know how to forward a port without entering the routers settings page? Or is there anyway to do it without being asked for a user name or login? Thanks!
The whole idea behind port forwarding is that it is a router setting. If you can't access the router you're shit outta luck if you want to forward the ports.

You can still use torrents if you don't have access to the router settings page, though they will usually be slow. One exception I've had is using the Deluge client on Linux, where for some reason I get full download/upload speeds without port forwarding.

Now I have a 20 Mb/s line and I top off at 27 kbs altogether. I really need to figure out how to forward the port without messing with the router.
Can't you just ask whoever runs the network for access to the router, or ask them to forward the port?
