it looks so bad... the textures, shaders.. well everything I suppose looks pre 2010. It's like they don't even care.

Never thought I'd say this but I feel a slight hype myself. I like how the Treyarch storyline even tracks back to the second world war. I've got a good feeling about this
Treyarch is the hero CoD needs, it's just too bad Activi$ion is the publisher.
Looks interesting, also like how something giant, bulky and loud as that 'Drone' has camo texturing

Who the fuck cares about graphics.
A day 1 CoD buy. Never thought I'd say this again.
Who the fuck cares about graphics.

If that wasn't enough to tackle, the team must squeeze even better visuals from the aging engine, maintain 60fps, and add innovation wherever they can.
Apparently the developers do, except they cant deliver.
Looks horrible, but at least it doesnt look too much like the last 3 games.
It looks damn fine for the engine they are using
Well the graphics are mediocre at best. I wonder what the full game will be like. And i definetly bet its gonna be a lot better than MW3
I hope this pushes DICE towards making a 2143. Bring back the Titans!
BF 2142?
That's what I thought
but 2142 is way more into the future.
I only buy Call of Duty for the single player (When its not 60-70 euro)
Always enjoyed the single player but the multiplayer is full with elitist douchbags
The ARG and website is going to be shit full of easter eggs and amazing.
I personally loved how the old arg had that control room with average screen cams of coverups and then it turned into watching zombies unleash hell along with the music changing into a creepy tone
Who the fuck cares about graphics.
it's a form of measurment that depending on the current state of what can be rendered, in this case real time on personal computing, to what is used in said graphics engine. This measurment correlates to the effort put forth into that game as well as the feeling of immersion and level of creativity, complexity, and overall satisfation of enjoying the judged entertainment.
The carring of graphics can be carried to any form of graphical rendings, for instance Pixal takes great care of their graphics and this is complemented togeather with great story telling. As opposed to more simple rendering of Mickey Mouse Club house.
Now the noticable inconsistancies with graphics and strength in stoytelling is Matrix (2 and 3 were weaker not terrible, but was pretty), and transformers. Now transformers never had much going for an engadging story, it had agrivating plotholes galore, but the graphics appeased people to a point where it was the sole thing for them to buy a movie ticket and that showed in gross revienve from it. (besides hype aka marketing)
Now from the looks of it call of duty's black ops and modern warfaire are the closest thing to the idea of AAA episodic content. expect black ops 3 and modern warfaire 4 next year as well as another call to duty fps which ties in this pesudo tom clancy fiction. And rolling them out like a tv show, graphics won't be movie quality unless big advances were made in graphics for the pilot.
It looks damn fine for the engine they are using
Doesn't mean it looks fine in any other aspect.
I always wonder what Treyarch could do with COD if they were given full reign over finding a new engine and a longer dev cycle.
Looks good and all but how much you wanna bet none of that will be in the multiplayer?
it looks so bad... the textures, shaders.. well everything I suppose looks pre 2010. It's like they don't even care.
They're on 2005 hardware.
This looks exactly like BF2142...in a bad way. BF2142 is ancient game and Blops2 somehow manages to look just as shit (by today's standards) as a 5+ years old game.
And unlike BF2142 (which is still a great game) it probably won't have a great and original gameplay to back it up.
[editline]2nd May 2012[/editline]
Multiplayer will most likely be the same wank fest as every previous CoD game and singleplayer will be just as shallow and un-challenging as Blops1.
I'll pass, thanks.

Jumping to conclusions

Agreed, at least Treyarch actually try to come up with a decent story.
CoD's always been a bit of mindless fun for me, it's quite a blast to play split-screen with a few friends.
Jumping to conclusions
Because it's more likely that they will do something different to what they've been doing all this time, amrite?

We already know that they will. Did you not even read the preview?
We already know that they will. Did you not even read the preview?
I did and nothing there says that it won't be as shallow and shitty as it's predecessors.

Yes it does. Several endings, branching storyline, open-world missions.
