I know I'm not the only one.
I keep the following in my closet. I'm Canadian and getting a gun is a lengthy process, but eventually.
-Louisville Slugger Baseball bat. I also have a metal bat but I prefer the slugger for it's feel and length. I have a back holster for it so it goes under my pack.
-Long Handled Hatchet (Goes in my belt holster, it's a surprisingly light axe)
-First Aid kid (Antiseptic, Morphine Pills (left over from jaw surgery and a spleenectomy), heavy duty bandages, tenser bandages, gauze, pretty much the works)
-Combat boots
-Switchblade (eye shots? I know it's pretty useless but in case me and my friends are mugged by other non-infected)
-Condoms. I'm not getting my girlfriend pregnant while we're on the run. Unless we need food. Haha, am I kidding? Who knows. They don't call it a bun in the oven for nothing.
-two canteens.
Most of these items go into a hiking backpack I have. Not one of those huge one, it's like a normal backpack but just really well built. Weight counts! You don't want to be really weighed down!
I'm 5'8 and weigh 150 pounds. As a Canadian, hockey has made me very fit. When I turn 19 next year I can go through the lengthy process of buying a gun to add to it.
Bat - 11.5 lb
Hatchet - 14.7 lb
First Aid Kit - 4 lb (small tin case, looking for a one that's a little lighter)
Condoms - err.. I don't know. It didn't really show up on the scale. I'll get a full pack later to replace this one.
Switchblade - 0.6 lb
Combat Boots - 1.7 lb USA size 9.5 I have smallish feet.
Canteens - 0.7 lb without water 4.4 with water.
Total Weight = 33.2 lb!
What do the rest of you have?
I don't have a kit
But I do have training
I've played L4D2
I'm going to fight them WITH MY BARE HANDS!
No Guns
No First aids
But what i do have is lots and lots of knowledge (Max Brook's Zombie Survival Guide)
and lots of knives.
I even got a samurai katana and dagger.
The only thing missing is the infection that makes people zombies :(

Also, a very useful quote in that book.
A beginner with an M16 is worse than a expert with a stone. or summfin like that.
crow bar
axe
.357 magnum
.38 handgun
knife
small toolkit
a map
a car(when everyone is dead who cares if you steal their car)
rifles varios
Bare hands
fuck yeah!
Axe, knife, Hunting Rifle (30.06), Hunting shotgun (overunder), martial-arts skills.
Also: As I would go bush in such an occasion, EXTENSIVE wilderness and bushcraft experience (bushwacker, outdoorsman, call it what you want) and skills.

Thats funny because guns were invented so beginners could use them without having to have years of training.
Machete :smug:
That is all I need. I will chop dem' bastards up.
A infinite supply of fresh water, non-perishable food, and an impregnable fortress.
Chainsaw :smug:
i have a at least 50 year old machete from the Philippines and a chainsaw in the garage.
Lots of sharp knives, power tools, blunt heavy objects, fuel-less transport (bikes, yo.), 1 car, 1 van, about a week's worth of food (both perishable and non-perishable), various types of radios, 2 laptops both with 3G internet capabilities and the will to survive, yo.

Inb4 mai cock.
But seriously.
A bomb shelter. two years supply of MRE (Meals ready to eat), and a couple of weapons I guess.
(The bomb shelter is because it's hard for zombies to burst through a steel door. Now isn't it?)

My lawn is zombie proof.
I was talking about things you ACTUALLY have. But whatever. Making up a kit you want is cool too. :P

Oh wait it'll never happen.

That's copyrighted by Norway.
GET OUT
A crowbar, first of all.
Several weapons, including pump shotguns, pistols and rifles.
I'll bring my FISTS.
Like a real man. :v:
Depends on the types of zombies.
The impossible Romero variety:
Ruger 10/22-5 pounds.
500 rounds of .22LR-3 pounds.
First Aid kit-3 pounds.
Mechete-2 pounds. (although I'm not quite sure how useful it would be.)
Utility knife-1 pound.
Food/water/sleeping bag. (Only long trips) 15 pounds.
The more realistic "enhanced rabies" variety.
Mossberg 500-6 pounds.
100 rounds of 12 gauge-10+ pounds.
First Aid kit-3 pounds.
Mechete-2 pounds. (although I'm not quite sure how useful it would be.)
Utility knife-1 pound.
Food/water/sleeping bag. (Only long trips) 15 pounds.
Even then I'd seldom be outside my home. Static defense is typically easier than rushing headlong into who knows what.
