I am getting a gpu upgrade with a $160-$150 range, and have found these two cards The XFX Double D HD-6850 :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150515 & The Gigabyte Ultra Durable VGA Series Radeon HD 6850:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125353 And I am currently leaning towards the XFX due to its lifetime warranty, but if anyone has a better option it would helpful. My current specs Cpu: Intel Core i5-2320 CPU @ 3.00G Ram: 8Gb DDR3 (Im cannot remember the speed right now) Gpu: Amd Radeon 6770 1Gb Psu: 600w
For the $10 extra, I really would like you to consider getting http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102948 because it's just a negligible price difference when it comes to the performance increase over the 6850. But if you can't then the XFX.
Those cards are so close, why would you waste the money? If you can, crossfire the cards. They perform the same as a 6970 http://www.guru3d.com/article/his-radeon-6770-iceqx-turbo-crossfire-review/15
Yea, I was thinking crossfiring my 6770, but then i would have to get a new mobo and the new card. I have done research on the 6850 looked at couple reviews site and customer reviews most say the 6850 is one of best price-performance cards. Also i has looked at the 6870 and saw there wasn't much of a difference from what i saw, but if you can show me a site with the comparing the performance difference it will help
there's something like 10%-15% performance increase over the 6850, which for the price is not bad at all
Thank you, but the issue is that mostly all the 6870 cards are up in the $170 ($190-180 w/ shipping) range since I have strict budget currently I cannot reach it, and the difference in performance is very small and I might overclock it to match the 6870 if you can using catalyst. But Thank you two for helping with this issue, I most likely buy the XFX 6850. Thanks again
You'll be happy either way, but if I were I would wait to get the 6870, even if it means another week or two

Both me and some friends with 6850 have major OC issues with it. (Might just be us though)
$150 is not worth a 15% increase. When $120 can yield a 75-100% increase. Otherwise I would say save up for a better card.

In that case, I say save up for a better card. I just don't think it's worth it. But it's your money.
What would you guys recommend saving up for?
HD 7850. Not far from where you're at now budget wise and something like 50%-60% performance increase
Remember I dont have much money for a pc upgrade so the 7850 kinda out of range, but what do you guys think about the 7770?
You're not going to see a huge performance increase going from a 6770 to a 7770. Honestly, saving up for the 6870 or 7850 would be your best option here.
Ill guess i will save up a bit for a 6870 Thanks
