New motherboard, how to reinstall windows 7 while keeping data?

My old motherboard had a cpu pin removed so it wouldn't work anymore, I bought a new Motherboard and a CPU and now when I try to boot, I get a bluescreen after the windows loading section.
I've heard that I need to reinstall windows 7 to make it work but the problem is that I have alot of important data on the drive and I wish not to format it. Is it possible to reinstall windows 7 without formating (or even boot without reinstalling)
Thank you!
You could try the repair option on the windows cd, otherwise you'll have to backup
It seems your only option is to stick the hard drive in another computer and back it up. What I do when I need to backup is I go to windows installation, open command prompt and manually copy my stuff to the other drives that I have in my computer.
Managed to fix it, you just install without pressing the format button. It will move everything to a folder called windows.old
