Yay! I shall be graduating next year with a software engineering degree, now I won't have to move away.
Same in most of Europe I reckon.
If the jobs are inviting there is probably a problem with the university aspect of it, or Scots just don't want IT jobs or something.

High schools in Scotland generally aren't pushing people to learn CS. My university class is packed though.

I graduated in January with a 2:1 in Computing (Digital Media Development) and I've stayed around the West Midlands since then with no luck in the employment world whatsoever.

IT profession has evolved and the demands have grown but the highschool programmes hasn't kept up in giving computer science a more central role.

There's so many people in IT now that really just don't know what the fuck they are doing.
