Yes More Japanese Developers on PC
Looks fun. I like the concept of polarity, just hope it's worked out well.
yo treasure, put mischief makers on steam
I'd download it. I've been wanting to play that game since it came out but never got around to it.
This game has one of the best soundtracks and one of the best game mechanics when compared to many other shmups. Like Radiant Silvergun before it, this game is a true work of art for the genre, and should be played by anyone that likes video games.
I will bust a nut so hard it will put a hole in my desk is this happens.

I hope Treasure will take it as a sign to put more of their SHMUP's on Steam if this happens and all goes well, and then more Japanese devs will follow and geezus christ this might be the most optimistic I've been in my whole life.

This game is God damn perfection of the SHMUP genre.
We really need more japanese games on Steam. I'd love to see Bayonetta on PC.

And a Wario World clone. (Too optimistic I bet it won't happen)
I've heard interesting things about Ikaruga, one of them being that it is bullet hell; I kinda like the bullet hell kinda schmup.

If SteamOS gets popular over there, we might see more Japanese games, and Valve'll get dat Japanese money, which probably means you'll be able to buy things using yen.
This is amazing. If there's any shmup or bullet hell that deserves to be on Steam and played by the masses, it's this.
If you want more Japanese Shoot em ups on Steam.

Looks like a flash game

It's unique for being one of the few bullet hell games out there to encourage actually flying into bullets, so long as they're of matching polarity. Infact, by the endgame it's literally a dance of polarity switching to avoid getting killed due to split-second opportunities for switching in the middle of an endless barrage of white and black bullets all over the screen. Radiant Silvergun may be the larger, fancier game in terms of mechanics and design, but Ikaruga is far better at a more focused, intense experience I'd say.
This looks interesting, I'll probably pick it up.
All the Japanese games that I've purchased on Steam so far have been great.
Ikaruga's a really fun game (I have it on XBLA). Really difficult, though, especially in the later levels.
I'd buy it if
They added online co-op
If its a good port/from ground up, no Dreamcast/Xbox360 to PC port
I fucking love ikaruga like crack. Go vote for it and feed my addiction thx
You can gets on XBLA also.
cool. i'm more of a Cave fan, but Treasure shmups are fun.
well it's been greenlighted plus 36 games

This game has almost all the features listed above. If you like this "polarity" feature then you should check it out. It's probably the only Bullet Hell game on Steam which has the polarity feature. Not sure about the 3rd though.
And it also has really good soundtracks.

I hope more Japanese devs get on the PC, Arc System Works have apparently shown interest in a PC port for their fighting games.

Sadly it's really really awful. It's almost impossible to remap keys or even change the resolution,
it runs so badly and is just no fun at all.
It's a shame since I am a huge fan of shmups.

Only the 2nd game has polarity. That said the Animu may be quite the turn off for some.
Nice soundtrack though yes.

Personally only had a big issue with the first game that the sprites were spazzing the fuck out in fullscreen mode, was fixable by forcing it to run window but eh. The 2nd & 3rd game has inbuilt choices for resolution (small) and windowed mode. Didn't have any FPS problems in any of them but I heard complaints on the steam hubs. Controls-wise I would rather have WASD moving but yeah it's forced to Arrow keys.
Oh hey I remember Ikaruga. Only GameCube exclusive I missed out on :(
