Yeah. You lose the partner icon, you have more network lag, you lose mic chat, and if your partner dies then you instantly lose too!
Great progress :v:
After playing Arma in first-person-only for so long (and how immersive it feels), this makes me interested in getting PUBG. Third-person shooters are inherently flawed because of corner peeking, but forced first is where things start to get tense and fun.

Okay so maybe I'm not interested right now after all

Before this update, the game's been great :v:
Just gotta currently wait until the network bullshit is patched back out.
I find in a game like this being able to just peek around a corner via third person is plain bullshit.

It's not that bad once you really get into it. With 3rd person you can counter most types of campers except tree and hill campers. Pushing players without using grenades ensures guaranteed death if they have clear sight of you.
But with 1st person, most of the campers move indoors. Rooms are a nightmare to clear since a single shot from the double barrel from up to 10 feet away will 1 shot almost anyone. Certain buildings can be camped super hard since you can stand in a corner and set your character up in a way that if someone were to come in, all they can see is a small portion of your head just as they get their head blown off by a double barrel. As you can tell, I've had a bit of trouble adapting to 1st person.
In first person, the late game fights in bushes or on hills are much more intense than in 3rd person and that's definitely a massive amount of the appeal to 1st person.

It's almost as if you have to employ actual tactics now, rather than using the same peek-and-ambush cheese for every game.

The first game i played i assumed the loss of partner icon was intended. With that thought in mind i loved the shit out of it, and we won our first match. It was really cool to have to communicate exactly where we landed and have to give grid coordinates to meet up. I kind of hope a 'hardcore' teams playlist makes it into the game eventually like that

A shotgun super effective in close quarters? Well I never.
Apparently a server patch went out and things are good again
