UK Release date: September 16th USA Release date: December 9th
Set in the 1970s, "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" finds George Smiley (Gary Oldman), a recently retired MI6 agent, doing his best to adjust to a life outside the secret service. However, when a disgraced agent reappears with information concerning a mole at the heart of the Circus, Smiley is drawn back into the murky field of espionage. Tasked with investigating which of his trusted former colleagues has chosen to betray him and their country, Smiley narrows his search to four suspects - all experienced, urbane, successful agents - but past histories, rivalries and friendships make it far from easy to pinpoint the man who is eating away at the heart of the British establishment.
Had an eye on this film for awhile. So far the reviews are saying it's awesome, and given the cast and the fact I did enjoy Let the Right One In, I think this should be a film to check out for sure. Too bad I'm going to have to wait a long time before I can see it fffffffff but oh well, hopefully it's worth the wait. And yeah apparently there was a tv mini-series for this back in '79, hence I specified 2011 in the title. Looks great. I love spy stories.
You know a film's gonna be great when Postal makes a thread about it.
Good cast.
This will be amazing.
Easily, this year's the best upcoming movie. Gary Oldman must get Oscar this time.
Easily, this year's the best upcoming movie. Gary Oldman must get Oscar this time.
Gonna be close between this and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Funny how both are the 2nd adaptations of a popular book. Regardless, Decembers gonna be a great month for movies here.

Books were fantastic, but these Swedish movies was... well, in my opinion bad. Oh, I just noticed: Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy will be released in 25th November in Poland, but Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in 13th January. Karma is a bitch.
Keep your eyes on Tom Hardy, gentlemen. He's growing into a common household name very fast.
Love being in the UK, can't wait to see this film!
TF2: The Movie
More movies need to actually star Gary Oldman
More movies need to actually star Gary Oldman
Yeah he's great. I was surprised when I saw that he does a hell of a lot of voice acting and supporting roles.
Imo Gary Oldman is best as a villain. Just look at The Professional. I still want his adopted babies
Movie of the year material, right here. Quite excited for it actually. Haven't seen a good movie in theaters for ages it feels like..
I remember seeing this trailer a few months ago on IMDB and I was extremely excited, mainly because of the cast list and how it appears to look like a classic spy film.

I'm going to finish the novel before watching though.
Fucking amazing cast.
I really want to see what Jim Prideaux looks like, it's bugged me for a while now that everyone who's read it had a pretty good impression of what what the other characters look like but not Jim.
I'm loving the cast. Ben Cumberbatch and Gary Oldman? Holy hell...
Keep your eyes on Tom Hardy, gentlemen. He's growing into a common household name very fast.
the first film I saw him in was star trek nemesis lol
Awesome cast, great premise and a good director, nothing can possibly go wrong with that film.
TF2: The Movie
this isn't a movie about kids trading hats
Gary Oldman should get more starring roles. He's the fucking man.
